Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Neeson's comforting intelligence (and a marvelous turn by Bruno Ganz as an ailing former member of the East German secret police), are not enough to prevent the film from choking on obviousness and directorial fumbling.
Rotten: For about an hour or so, "Unknown" is intriguing.
Rotten: The snow and haze that Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra keeps pumping into the street scenes seem to have drifted into the script as well.
Fresh: Unknown" obviously knows its limitations, and it doesn't bother to rise above them. It just keeps throwing the punches the audience wants and expects. It won't cure world hunger, but chances are it will sell a lot of popcorn.

Clone
This was basically Bourne Identity with a different title. Which in itself isn't a terrible thing, just don't expect anything really original...Overall, If your a Liam Neeson fan looking for a good action/adventure flick, you probably won't be too dissapointed.
A VERY GREAT AND THRILLING RIDE AND VERY UNDERRATED!
The plot of "Unknown" might not bear much scrutiny after you've seen it, but the movie succeeds totally in its goal of giving you an exciting two hours. Liam Neeson is charismatic as usual in the role of a professor attending a conference in Berlin who has a serious accident, awakes from a four-day coma, and discovers that everyone--including his wife--denies his existence. Diane Kruger (of "Inglourious Basterds" fame) is ethereally beautiful as the cab driver who helps Neeson recover his identity.
Without getting into plot details, "Unknown" resembles a mashup of "The Bourne Identity," Polanski's "Frantic," "Total Recall" and the short-lived TV series "Nowhere Man." As Neeson's ice-princess wife, January Jones has a function in the plot and fills it competently. The same might be said for Aidan Quinn and Frank Langella in their roles, though they do it with more authority than Jones. The great Bruno Ganz, playing an ex-Stasi agent turned private eye, steals every scene he's in, and various big names from German cinema wander through the movie, including Karl Markovits of "The Counterfeiters" and Sebastian Koch of "The Lives of Others." The story of "Unknown" is bits and pieces of things we've seen before, but it offers enough red herrings, mysterious characters, murderous assassins, car chases and explosions to keep you thoroughly entertained. It's a minor thriller, but a nifty one.
Holy Smoke!
I watched this movie a while ago but i distinctly remember it being amazing! It was thrilling, funny, suspensful, and the end was very much unexpected! I had many guesses on how this movie would end... all my ideas werent even close to the movies ending! Its a complete shock! When they first said it (i wont say what it is becuase it would give the movie away) i wasnt sure that was the ending. thats how unbeleivable and shocking it is! The one thing i can critisize this movie on is they didnt have as much action as i would have liked, but still, a veerryyy good movie!
