Plot Summary
Martial arts superstar Jet Li delivers a break-out performance in the gripping, action-packed story about a man raised from childhood by a ruthless crime boss (Academy Award® nominee Bob Hoskins) and becomes a violent killing machine. When a blind piano tuner (Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman) takes him in, Danny (Li) tries to start a new life, but his brutal past follows him, forcing him to fight back. Amazing!! Six stars!!!!
I'm a big movie fan, so I've seen a lot of 'em, and this movie is by far one of the best. It's got everything; great action choreography, an intriguing plot, believable characterization, a few light-hearted moments, really good actors, and a tone of seriousness throughout the whole thing. I had no idea Jet Li was such a talented actor either––he does an amazing job in such a deep and serious role. This is one of those rare action movies with a really good, powerful underlying message. It's a definite must-see!
Underrated.
This movie should be put on everyone's movie list. This movie connects to it's audience throught the characters. Jet Li did a great job playing the role as Danny. Theres a two worlds in Danny's life, a dark, gloomy world and a happy peaceful one. It becomes difficult for the audience to see Danny transition between the two worlds. I love this movie did a great job connecting to its audience. When you do watch this movie, be sure to notice the environment around Danny, such as the lighting or environment.
Awesome
I've seen this movie so many times. It's a must buy! There's a lot of action in this movie. This movie will take you on a emotional roller coaster, and you will definitely feel for the characters in this movie. I really don't want to spoil it for the viewers who have never seen this movie by giving out details. All I can say just buy the movie, it's definitely something for action/drama fans to watch.
