Up the Down Staircase
For one thing Sandy Dennis gives one of her best performances however she is never bad. The story is the typical idealistic teacher quickly becoming disillusioned by the dificullties of the school system, not to mention the fact that she is a young attractive naive teacher who is ill-equipped to handle the students and fight the school system. She tries desperately to make a difference but finds she is barely making a dent. It is definetely worth a watch. And it is a keeper, my word for movies that I add to my collection and rewatch over and over. which is what this one is. Watch this you won't be sorry
