Plot Summary
A group of fraternity pledges head for the seedy side of the city in search of strippers and discover a sinister spot called The After Dark Club. But when the bar’s luscious dancers turn out to be bloodthirsty vampires led by the kinky Katrina (Grace Jones), the evening takes on a freaky new twist. Can these guys survive a bizarre onslaught of vixens and vamps, or will the armies of the undead take the ultimate bite out of their night? Chris Makepeace (Meatballs), Robert Rusler (Weird Science), Gedde Watanabe (Sixteen Candles) and Dedee Pfeiffer co-star in this outrageously sexy horror comedy that features wild makeup effects by Oscar®-winner Greg Cannom (Dracula, The Mask).

The 80s Vamped Up
Yes in retrospect Vamp may not be the best of the 80s vampire films, especially when placed against classics such as Fright Night and Lost Boys, but when viewed from the right perspective Vamp has a certain awkward charm that can win over even the most jaded genre fan. Vamp is anchored by the indomitable Grace Jones as the kinky and largely silent Katrina, an ancient vampire queen who has set up a dank and sleazy gentleman's club in the seedy part of the city. The movie gets strange quickly with the inclusion of our college buddies who have been stolen right out of goofy sex comedy that could've easily been filmed at the same time (and likely on the same backlot). On a quest for loose women and a story to bring back to their prospective fraternity, the night goes from bad to downright lethal in short order for our luckless protagonists. Ultimately it's up to our largely innocent hero and his quirky gal pal (played by the one and only Dedee Pfeiffer, younger sister to Michelle) to stop Katrina and her bloodsucking femme fatales by sunrise. And that's not even counting the street gang lead by knife-happy albino psychopath. Entirely grounded with memorable performances by a roster of 80s teen camp mainstays that hold their own alongside Ms. Jones, Vamp is a quintessential 80s cheese-fest that does everything slightly off kilter but oh so right.
Strange
Strange and dismal. A waste of film
