The original is better than the remake...

As good as the John Carpentar version is, it doesn't compare with the original. This movie is up there with The Haunting and Cat People under great black-and-white horror films that never should have been remade, no matter how good the director of the remake is.

A STRANGE, THOUGHT PROVOKING FILM

I understand there is a re-make and it is a John Carpenter film. I highly recommend though that you see this one instead. It isn't about action. It wants you to think, you know use your brain. Trust me, you will enjoy it.

A small classic

Until the cheesy ending, this is a classic of black & white sci-fi horror moviemaking. The kids are great and creepy. The sequel's not bad either. The 90s remake is boring and, as usual, way dumbed down. Watch this one instead.
