Plot Summary

From the master of suspense, John Carpenter, comes a chilling new version of the sci-fi classic. Something is terribly wrong in the tiny village of Midwich. After an unseen force invades a quiet coastal town, ten women mysteriously find themselves pregnant. Local physician Dr. Alan Chaffee (Christopher Reeve) and government scientist Dr. Susan Verner (Kirstie Alley) join forces when the women simultaneously give birth…and the reign of terror begins. In what the New York Times calls "one scarifying trip," the people of Midwich must try to find a way to stop the children in the Village of the Damned.

Best Horror Movie

This is one of the greatest horror classics you will ever see in your entire f**kin life!!!!!

One of my favorities!!

Yes! I love this movie

couldn

i love the original, so i though to myself... was that Carpenter version all that bad? oh my God why did i waste the money on this piece of wretch. How did they convince Reeve to take part in this? i guess he put trust in Carpenter's record. It's awful beyond words, and you know it's going to be terrible when John Carpenter's name runs by in the film score credits as the movie begins, he plays guitar and it sounds like he's practicing his first chord progressions as the soundtrack. Pathetic ego gone out of control..."why i'll just do the music m'self darn tootin"

There is no character development, no pacing, horrible editing, the same flaccid cinematography he always employs in all his films only this time there's no special effects guy like in THE THING to save his production. The children aren't scary in any way, the town looks like it's filmed on a back lot of some old studio. The entire film is so boring and anticlimactic you hardly notice it.

Just buy the original, it's much better in every way.
