Plot Summary
Singer. Rebel. Outlaw. Hero. With his driving freight-train chords, steel-eyed intensity and a voice as dark as the night, the legendary "Man in Black" revolutionized music - and forged his legacy as a genuine American icon. Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: [Director] James Mangold's mostly excellent Walk the Line is designed as a Christian epic.
Fresh: A Johnny Cash biopic equally packed with music and frustrated love, Walk the Line goes from compelling to enthralling.
Fresh: If Walk the Line isn't the full story of Johnny Cash, it's at least a crucial corner of it, a way of coaxing a legend down to a human scale, without shrinking that legend away to nothingness.

A must see for any Johnny Cash fan
This is a small view of a man who changed the course of music history. A very well done film!!! If you are not a Cash fan - you will be moved to have a change of heart - learn to appreciate the things that are given to you unexpectedly - he was a family man, and a very giving person. If you like the movie I encourage you to read the book - Johnny Cash The Biography. He will live on throughout the generations to come. ENJOY!!!
amazing story
its truly incomparable acting, humor, love, all ends of the spectrum. i definitely recommend it 2 everyone, without a doubt ... this movie spans 10yrs of there lives... obviously this is a true story so we get 2 see what i was like 4 them.
one of the finest biographic films i have ever seen
quite simply, this is the greatest biographical film on a musician that has ever been created. Phoenix's portrayal of the man in black was electrifying. this movie was probably the best role of his career. oh yeah lets not forget that he was actually singing, and it sounded just like johnny cash. james mangold deserves praise unconditional for this moving piece of art. and no one could possibly dismiss reese witherspoons startingly realistic portrayal of june carter cash. and the casting director chose all the right actors to play all the right people. props to shooter jennings as waylan jennings, the astonishing singer and songwriter who played jerry lee lewis. and elvis was portrayed to a form of excellence unseen by any other movie. overall this is truly an astounding movie with heart, quality, and some fantatsic music. one of my all time favorites
