Plot Summary

What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? Academy Award(R)-winning writer-director Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo") and the inventive storytellers and technical geniuses at Pixar Animation Studios ("The Incredibles," "Cars," "Ratatouille") transport moviegoers to a galaxy not so very far away for a new computer-animated cosmic comedy about a determined robot named WALL-E. After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots. Filled with surprises, action, humor and heart, WALL-E was written and directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Jim Morris, co-produced by Lindsey Collins and features original and innovative sound design by Academy Award(R)-winner Ben Burtt ("Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial").

Masterpiece

This is probably the best film to come out so far this year, and if the Academy is smart, they will nominate it for Best Picture. No other film in recent memory has been as original and creative as this. The first 40 minutes will be shown in film classes and will leave you gaping at the screen. The film is relentless and doesn't let down at any point in the story. It's time that people start recognizing the geniuses at Pixar with other films that aren't animated, because they are in a league of their own and none other can compare. "Wall-E" is a masterpiece.

Perfect movie

WALL-E is truly one of the best movies of 2008, and quite possibly one of the best animated films ever. Not to mention it features the best fictional couple in years (WALL-E and EVA have more chemistry than most professional actors!) It works as both a comedy, a sci-fi flick, a romance, and of course a great family film. Pixar, congrats, you've got another amazing movie on your record. Keep up the good work. =]

The best animated movie of the year (get on it Oscars!)

This movie again proves that Pixar is compared to no other company. They're not afraid to change how they made their previous film(s), and yet make a great film every three years (however it's now going to be every year). This movie is highly contreversial. I would say this movie is saying more of a moral message than an enviromental one. Many people will (and have) complained that the movie is trying to say that we have trashed our planet too much and we should stop before it gets really bad. I think it's trying to say we've gotten too LAZY and something bad gonna happen if we don't stop. If you notice, the movie is making fun of today's culture. Almost evrything is automatic in the film. Heck, robots even feed us! But the most important part in the lesson is that we can fix our mistakes no matter how big. Use the thing that held us back to move forward. Grade: A
