Plot Summary
Recreating his role as a hitman John Cusack gives a hilarious performance in War Inc., a political satire set in Turaqistan a country occupied by an American private corporation run by a former U.S. Vice President (Dan Aykroyd). In an effort to monopolize the opportunities the war-torn nation offers, the corporation's CEO hires Hauser (Cusack) to kill a Middle Eastern oil minister. Now struggling with his own growing demons, the assassin must pose as the corporation's Trade Show Producer in order to pull off this latest hit while maintaining his cover by organizing the high-profile wedding of Yonica Babyyeah (Hilary Duff), an outrageous Central Asian pop star, and keeping a sexy left-wing reporter (Marisa Tomei) in check.

Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: An overbearing lampoon of American war profiteering -- a comedy so leaden it could make a liberal hate liberal Hollywood.
Rotten: War, Inc. squanders some top-tier talent (Marisa Tomei, Sir Ben Kingsley) as well as our patience.
Rotten: Like the smart weapon technology it mocks, War, Inc. aims at the right targets but misfires so severely that even the clever details get obliterated in the resulting mess.
Rotten: War, Inc. fires off dozens of lethal dialogue squibs like 'War is the improvement of investments using other means,' but it doesn't connect them into anything that can truly rattle an audience's complacency.

Wonderfully twisted
Some say that the best satire portrays a world that is just like the real one, just exaggerated. Well, that is what War, Inc. is. Throw in some of Cusak's patented neuroticism, and his sister (both sorta reprising their roles from Grosse Pointe), and you have a wonderfully twisted experience that is disturbingly close to the truth. There are some truly funny moments in this dark comedy; I recommend it.
Yonica Rocks!
Hilary Duff's emotional intensity interpreting Yonica's character is amazing. She even changed the character in some positive ways and gave her a lot more depth than what the writers intended. The rest of the movie is way more realistic and the question is art imitating life or life imitating art?
Not quite.
I had high hopes for this movie before I saw it in theatres. It did not live up to my expectations one bit and I will not reccomend it to anyone. Hillary Duff was really good, and that's about it. War, Inc. is one of those movies that you know how it will end from the get go, which makes it not a whole lot of fun to watch. The violence scenes are completly unbelievable, although maybe that was the point, I'm not sure. Not quite.
