Plot Summary
We Are the Best! is a story of three young misfit girls growing up in the early ‘80s Stockholm. Pixieish, mohawk-sporting Klara and her best friend Bobo are 13-year-old rebels looking for a cause. Despite having no instruments—or discernible musical talent—the two put all their energy into forming an all-girl punk band, recruiting their shy, classical guitar-playing schoolmate Hedwig as a third wheel. With tender affection for its young characters, We Are the Best! paints a joyous and sharply observant portrait of the rebellious spirit of youth and growing up different.

Highway_61….If you turn subtitles off completely they are only on the bottom. Great film, you should try to watch again.
Never Mind the Bollocks, We Are the Best!
My 12-year old daughter plays drums, loves punk rock and adored this movie. So did her semi-hipster dad. There's loads of swear words among the subtitles, so if you're squeamish about that stuff prepare yourself. We live in Brooklyn and ride the subway pretty much everywhere we go, so it's nothing my kid hasn't heard before. All the kids - especially the girls - give authentic, wonderful performances, both as actors and musicians. Me and the kid have recommended this to everyone we know.
