Plot Summary
WHERE GOD LEFT HIS SHOES is the inspiring story of a family that refuses to break apart in the darkest time of their lives. When Frank, Angela, and their two children are evicted from their New York City apartment, they have no choice but to move into a homeless shelter. After a few difficult months, a glimmer of hope arrives on Christmas Eve: a nearby housing project has an apartment available immediately. However, in order to qualify for the apartment, Frank needs a job. While the rest of the city prepares for Christmas, Frank and his ten-year-old stepson, Justin, roam the cold city streets trying to find a job by day's end so they can have a home to go to on Christmas morning. "Writer-director Salvatore Stabile has a good eye for the details of hard-luck ordinariness, and he sketches believable family bonds with a minimum of flourish" – Schwarzbaum, EW. From IFC Films.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Writer-director Salvatore Stabile has a good eye for the details of hard-luck ordinariness, and he sketches believable family bonds with a minimum of flourish.
Fresh: Writer-director Salvatore Stabile keeps his affecting story hurtling forward with such grit and integrity it's easy to forgive its loaded setup and occasional lapses in detail and logic.
Fresh: Stabile, a Brooklyn native with a resume in TV production, knows how to line up a permit and scout out perfect South Brooklyn Italian manors and melancholic intersections. He gets interesting scenes, too.
Rotten: If you could cut all the music from Where God Left His Shoes, you might actually have a solid family drama.

well done! shows the strengths and weaknesses of a small family struggling to make it from day to day. some really funny parts and really sad parts. totally worth your time watching for anyone who cares about 'humans being.' and yes, i meant to type it that way.
Where God Left His Shoes
I loved this movie. John Leguizamo was superb. The actor that played his stepson is perfect in this role. Great movie.
