Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Thomas Haden Church bridges the credibility gap in snowed-in fugitive tale.
Fresh: Largely because of a pitch-perfect final line and a Haden Church performance that brings a dose of needed compassion, Whitewash manages to keep its footing.
Rotten: Despite Church's solid performance, Whitewash feels so leaden in its gravity, it borders on dull.
Fresh: Whitewash is a small but sparkling gem on ice.

DUDE THIS FILM IS DOPE
I saw a special screening of Whitewash a few weeks ago and I thought it was a fantastic film. Dealing with moral panic and creeping guilt, Thomas Haden Church gives a marvelous performance that shows his versatility. The film is very well-paced and demonstrates what it means to be human. Overall, an excellent film and a must-see.
Fantastically maddening
This is a solid film. Thomas Haden Church killed it, keeping me enthralled as I watched him climb into madness. I would definitely recommend.
Whitewash
This has to be one of the strangest movies I have viewed in awhile. It moved too slowly in parts to the point that I found myself nodding off. Two stars for Church's superlative job, but not enough to save this weird one.
There should have only been two stars showing. I don't believe it earned five.
