Plot Summary
A young woman who is a product of the 1960’s, Cally finds herself drifting away from her father, who raised her alone after her mother abandoned them both. Cally sees Sabine (Daryl Hannah) at a coffee shop and is instantly drawn to her, hoping that she can turn into the artistic and confident woman Sabine appears to be. When Sabine accidentally leaves her journal behind one day, Cally uses it as an opening to enter Sabine’s life as Cally begins to piece together clues that suggest she and Sabine are closer than they had thought.

A part of each girl's heart
Cally's searching for her past, her mother's past and the ultimate search for herself is something all women can identify in some small way.
The cinematography in this film is fresh and reflective; light and yet of great depth. Definitely one of my very favorite movies of all time.
