Plot Summary
Walt Disney Animation Studios proudly presents Winnie the Pooh, a wonderful new adventure from the creators of the hit film Bolt. Fresh: "Winnie the Pooh" may not be a movie that grown-ups seek out on their own, but it may make some of them jealous of the 4-year-olds who are making the noble bear's acquaintance for the first time.
Fresh: It's a pleasure to sink into an animated family movie from Disney that radiates charm with a gentleness that seems damn near revolutionary.
Fresh: It's classically Disney, as if Walt himself (actually, John Cleese) were reading us a story.

A LITTLE PIECE OF NOSTALGIA
I'm not afraid to admit it: I'm 18 years old and I still love Winnie the Pooh! Ever since I was in diapers, the "silly old bear" and his peculiar friends from the Hundred Acre Woods have always held a special place in my heart, so it was only fitting that I would see Pooh's much-anticipated return to the big screen for myself on opening day, even if the entire theater was jam-packed with small children...and it was. Nevertheless, as soon as the opening credits began to roll, the inner five-year-old in me immediately came out and my love for the characters I had known since infancy was once again rekindled. Everything about "Winnie the Pooh" felt just right: the charming narration by John Cleese, the breezy original music by Zooey Deschanel, and the impressive vocal talents of Jim Cummings (Pooh and Tigger) as well as Craig Ferguson (Owl). In addition, the three interweaving short stories that made up the film worked amazingly well together as a cohesive tale. But in the end, the icing on the cake had to be the stunning 2D animation, which, in my opinion, was a treat in itself just to look at and appreciate. Overall, "Winnie the Pooh" is easily one of the best animated films of the year and can even be compared to countless other classic Disney movies. It's a wonderful animated adventure filled with enough heart, whimsy, and innocence to make you wish you were a kid again! Walt would be proud.
The Best Family Movie Of The Year!
While I enjoyed such movies as Rango, Kung Fu Panda 2, Gnomeo & Juliet, etc., Winnie The Pooh is the best family movie of the year because adults will feel like their inner four year olds came out to watch this movie, and they will have a great time. The movie may only be just over an hour long, but it is worth every penny you spend to see this movie. Do yourself a favor and escape back to your childhood with that silly ol' Pooh!
Dissapointed
I was so so so so excited when I saw this was coming out! I thought I was going to skip happily about and relive my childhood. Incorrect assumption! I rented it and quit watching it part of the way. The characters' personas weren't all quite right. Rabbit had a horrible voice and acted differently than his previous incarnations. The musical bits fell lame and useless. I felt like they were simply recycling plots from previous movies, and that it was painful to try and follow the flow of the movie. Why was Kanga suddenly vain and worried about her youth? Where was Gopher? The movie was just a bunch of loose ends, compiled of halfhearted schemes and the threads of my frayed and tattered heart.
