Fresh: Boy, was I wrong. There's more palm-sweating suspense in one minute of this baby than in all of The Omen.
Fresh: Every bit as smart as the Times puzzles, puzzlemakers and puzzle solvers.
Fresh: Wordplay captures the exhilaration that comes from navigating the ins and outs of complex puzzles. It also celebrates the English language in a way that is stimulating and immensely entertaining.
Fresh: Even if you've never done a crossword in your life or been frustrated by the attempt, you will likely be drawn into this intriguing world through the enthusiasm expressed by its adherents.

Feel Good Documentary!
I saw this movie when it came out, and I just loved it! Such an entertaining film with quirky, interesting characters and some pretty cool celebrities - Jon Stewart, President Clinton, Mike Mussina. I've never been a big cross-word puzzler, but you don't have to be to enjoy this movie. I found it fascinating to learn how the puzzle masters create puzzles as well. All around, a really watchable, enjoyable film.

If you have any interest in word games, cross or otherwise, you will love this movie. The people who participate in the crossword contest are a quirky and interesting group. The action builds to a suspenseful climax at the end that rivals any sports event. The celebrities who participate show how varied a bunch are into the crossword world. Grade A+!
