Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: The star of Wrong Is Right is Sean Connery, giving the first uncertain performance of his otherwise exemplary career.
Rotten: Wild proceedings are packed with convoluted intrigue.
Fresh: Veering wildly between a quite well-written satire on the contemporary American political scene and a very ham-fisted nuclear blackmail thriller, its sheer eccentricity is quite engaging.

Prophetic
Ironically, I first saw this on a layover in Dubai on Al Jazeera in 2011. The movie came out shortly after I joined the Air Force. I have to give credit to Mr Connery for lending his cachet to a project/subject that apparently few would touch. Based on a novel written by a former CIA agent, the movie addresses the various motivations some people have concerning foreign policy and how they sell that policy to us, the taxpayer. The media obviously plays a large role in that.
It could have premiered during George W. Bush's administration and except for the dated sets you might not have noticed anything unusual. It is insightful and educational. Look past the cheap production values to the writing. In the vein of " Wag the Dog" it will help you parse the truth when watching the news. George Orwell would be proud of this film.
