Plot Summary
Vibrant pop-art animation, an amazing soundtrack, and a lively storyline have made Yellow Submarine one of the most beloved musical films of all time. In the film, the idyllic Pepperland comes under attack by the Blue Meanies, a music-despising bunch who strip the land of sound and color. Luckily the Captain of the Yellow Submarine, Old Fred, finds his way to Liverpool to enlist John, Paul, George and Ringo to help bring music, joy and laughter back to Pepperland. The magical journey is filled with surrealistic humor, Liverpudlian wit, and The Beatles’ classic songs.

AN ENDEARING CLASSIC!
I remember first watching "Yellow Submarine" years ago when I was a kid, and ever since, it's easily become one of my all-time favorite films. From its psychedelic pop-art animation to its amazingly catchy soundtrack to its brilliantly clever humor, the whole movie is like one big, joyous party that never overstays its welcome. The characters are hilariously absurd, the storyline is incredibly imaginative and the dialogue is consistently witty. When it comes down to it, this is a great movie, no matter how you look at it. Filled with classic Beatles tunes and fantastical imagery, it's a satisfyingly entertaining musical journey from start to finish. Whether you're a fan of John, Paul, George and Ringo, or if you simply want to experience an hour and a half of pure escapism, "Yellow Submarine" is a wonderful treat the whole family can enjoy.
All the color of the 70's ...now in HD
I loved this movie on VHS and that was the only way I could find it for the longest time. My niece and I would watch it over and over until the tape wore out! Can't wait to get it from iTunes so we can boo at the Blue Meanys and cheer for our 4 heroes! Looking forward to the HD experience too. Don't hesitate on this piece of pop history and lush tunes.

The complexity of the story is not placed into importance here; rather this little animated movie is an artistic showcase of wonderfully inventive concepts, music, visuals and even comedic dialogue. Plus, it's the Beatles. Yellow Submarine is entertainment at its finest.
