Relatively Uninteresting

I downloaded this with high hopes. The story sounded interesting. Unfortunately, I was unable to connect with the actors playing the parts and I ended up not finishing the movie

Was I the only one who didn't get it?

I rented this movie based on the rave reviews for how wonderful & touching it was. I knew it had an artistic stroke to it (which I love) and was excited about settling in with it after work one night. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. There were parts of it that I liked, but overall I thought it was, well....weird. Parts of it were completely predictable. And honestly, those were the only parts of the movie I loved. The beginning & end were beautifully done but I got lost in the middle. *SPOILER ALERT* The fact that his wife's "ghost" would appear to him throughout the rest of the film (over a 20 year period) was weird to me and a little over the top. (I have liked films where this was done before, but it felt overdramatic & blah to me here).

All in all, it just didn't click with me. Maybe I went in with stronger expectations, I don't know. But all in all, I'd give it a 3. :)
