Plot Summary
A year after his brother Tom's death, Jack (Duplass) is still struggling emotionally. When he makes a scene at a memorial party, Tom's best friend Iris (Blunt) offers up her family cabin on an island in the Pacific Northwest so Jack can seek catharsis in solitude. Once there, however, he runs into Iris' sister Hannah (Dewitt) who is reeling from the abrupt end of a seven-year relationship and finds solace in Tom's unexpected presence. A blurry evening of drinking concludes with an awkward sexual incident, made worse by Iris' sudden presence at the cabin the next morning.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: Romantic, funny, surprising and thoroughly involving, Your Sister's Sister is the rare film you give yourself over to completely.
Rotten: Movies that start well and end badly occur often enough, and yet even knowing that is no preparation for what happens to Your Sister's Sister.
Fresh: It certainly shows that fine films don't need big budgets, capturing some sweet lightning in an arresting bottle indeed.
Fresh: There's a nice, loose-limbed improvisatory feeling to "Your Sister's Sister," a quality that identifies it as the work of artisans, not assembly-line professionals.
Customer Reviews
I love this movie!!
I saw this movie in the theaters when it opened in June and was so happy to catch it here again as it disappeared from theaters too quickly. It is funny, heart-felt and all the characters are wonderful (especially Rosemary DeWitt). I think this was the best film Emily Blunt has been since PRADA. Some very funny scenes, some very moving scenes and Mark Duplass is going to be a star someday.
Waste of time
A movie about nothing, dialog that is empty, and apparently the F* word is supposed to be a punch line. Wasted rental.
Good Cast Terrible Ending
Like so many dramas indie drama's this movie moves through in a realistic and beautiful way. The characters are able to live with each other with a forgiveness I find touching. However the end is just plain stupid.
