Plot Summary
Discovery by Flo Ziegfeld changes a girl's life, but not necessarily for the better. Three beautiful women soon discover this when they join the spectacle on Broadway. Susan (Academy Award and Emmy-nominee and Golden Globe-winner Judy Garland -- "The Wizard of Oz," "A Star is Born") plays a singer who must leave behind her aging vaudevillian father. Sheila (Academy Award-nominee Lana Turner -- "Peyton Place," "The Bad and the Beautiful") portrays a working girl who is pursued by both a millionaire and by her loyal boyfriend, Gil (Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Jimmy Stewart -- "It's Wonderful Life," "Vertigo," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"). The mysterious European beauty Sandra (Hedy Lamarr -- "Samson and Delilah," "Ecstasy) struggles with her concert violinist husband who cannot endure the thought of escaping poverty by his wife promenading her glamour in skimpy costumes.

A Lovely Picture!
This movie is not what I would call an average MGM musical, it has got some amazing musical numbers in it, but it also has a really good storyline (not to say the others don't!). This will appeal to drama and musical fans alike, it also has some fun comedy relief in it! Fives stars to this one!

This is one of my FAVORITE movies. Maybe I'm just a sucker for old films but this will forever be a fave of mine.
Judy Garland's amazing & I LOVE Lana Turner!!

Ziegfeld Girl.......STUPENDOUS!!!!!!!! Judy Garland, Lana Turner, and Hedy Lamarr are all amazingly beautiful and so gorgous! The costumes especially were my favorite! And the humongous sets were fenominal!!!!!!! The story of a Brooklyn evelator girl (Turner), a simple daughter of an aging vaudeville actor (Garland), and a poor Europian beauty (Lamarr), becoming stars on the great Ziegfeld stage is wonderful!!!!! James Stewart and Jackie Cooper are great too!!! Miss Garland is amazing in the "Minnie from Trinidad" number and Miss Turner is great playing a Broadway star letting the fame go to her head! Although you never know what happened to Sheila (Turner) in the end! It's still great though, Ziegfeld Girl is AMAZING, A MUST SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
