Plot Summary
The Morgan brothers are struggling to keep their organic blood and bone fertilizer business afloat. Their secret recipe for success (using dead victims of car crashes in their product) was once a boon to the business, but months have passed since their last find and an important new customer is impatiently waiting on delivery. When younger brother Reg (Damon Herriman, Justified) stumbles upon three stranded travelers on a remote country road, he cooks up a radical solution to their supply problems, in hope of finally gaining the respect he craves from his bossy big brother Lindsay (Angus Sampson, Insidious). But when Reg starts to fall for one of his intended victims, the beautiful Sophie (Anna McGahan), the plan starts to get complicated. A witty, gory blend of Australian humor and horror tropes, the Cairnes Brothers' 100 Bloody Acres is a bloody good time.

Fresh: This fairly rote tale of rural ghouls and their passing-through prey has its own hick charm, mostly because of performers who never overplay their hands.
Fresh: A gory and funny riff on the trusty standby of city kids being menaced by rural types.
Fresh: "100 Bloody Acres" somehow manages to be both retro and up to date with its giddy, delightful gross-out horror-comedy mash-up storytelling.

It's 'Shaun of the Dead' meets 'Tucker and Dale vs. Evil'. This movie is so much fun. Highly recommended!

This movie was the highlight of the Stanley Film Festival this year. Don't miss it.
Fanbloodytastic!
A treat on every level. Entertaining. Amusing. Memorable and remarkably fun. Scripting is clever. Photography is sublime. Casting is perfect; Angus Sampson is AMAZING!! Be sure to see his turn. Hard to fault this romp. Be great to get a copy of the soundtrack if there is one. I'll be watching this with friends for years to come. Thank you Cairnes(&Morgan) Bros!
