Plot Summary

From director Tim Sullivan comes the eagerly anticipated second installment of the gore-soaked horror-comedy franchise, 2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS! The Southern residents of Pleasant Valley take their cannibalistic Guts N’ Glory Jamboree on the road to Iowa where they encounter spoiled Northern heiresses Rome and Tina Sheraton and the cast and crew of their “Road Rascals” reality show. Performing “The Bloodiest Show on Earth,” our Southern Maniacs prove to be more than ratings killers in what John Landis has called “one of the rare sequels that surpasses the original.”

A chore to get through

First of all, let me say I'm a fan of Repo. And my love for that film didn't help me through this in the slightest. Secondly, everything in the movie is dubbed, every word. While this might've seemed like an opportunity to have a little bit more fun with the film, it just succeeds in making the film seem cheaper than it needs to be. The fact that's there's not really any sets to be seen in this movie doesn't help either. Just tents. The cast of a Simple Life type show arrive in a camper and stop on their way up north, somehow end up down south (???) where they meet the villains from the first film now minus Robert Englund (replaced by Bill Moseley). While I'll admit the unrated version has its fair share of gore, the characters are cliched to a point that stops being funny within the first five minutes. While I'm sure it was their intention to make the villains seem downright charismatic next to the reality show stars and their crew, all they succeed in doing is making the film more difficult to watch whenever they are on screen. While using the reality show angle might've worked to inject humor into Wrong Turn 2, here is only seems uninspired, especially since they're knocking off a show three years after its cancellation. In comparing this to Repo, that movie was fun in a very entertaining sometimes hammy way, this movie is just a cheaper copy of the original film. Watch the original 2001 Maniacs instead.

Stupid!!! 1st one was waaaay better, do not waste your $$

EVERY sterotype in this one, all over the top, all ridiculous - a dumb movie really

"Come get a taste of the south, and let the South, get a taste of you."

This is my first review on anything So i will try and be fair when making this review yet very truthful.
I will say If you love REPO ( aside the fact two REPO stars are in this one too ) and any Independant Horror films such like REPO, and the first remake of 2001 maniacs, You will love this one.
The Story of the Pleasent Valley Maniacs continues when the Sheriff that has protected them threw the years turncoats them and lays the law down by enforcing the Maniacs to no longer hold Their Gut's N Glory Jubilee, and luring any northern folks into their town So the undead confederacy can lay out vengeance. Of Course the maniacs take that news, place it in a Ticked-out barrel and roll it down hill into a Bullseye and decide to Bring the South to the North. Lead By Mayor Buckman, 10 of Pleasent Valley's maniacs go on bus, leave Pleasent Valley and begin their Travelin' Jamboree.
Meanwhile, A reality TV Crew (mimicking Stereotypes from Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, to tools like Mike "The Situation", K-fed, and a still in the closet Lance Bass) "Road Rascals" gets a flat, and end up as the Guests of Honor at the Maniacs Jubilee!

Moseley makes Buckman his own in this movie as the straight talkin' crazed Mayor, and He makes it his own in other characters he has played such as Chop-top, Otis Driftwood, and Luigi Largo from REPO! fame. Now to compare both Moseley and Englund, It's uncomparable, because it is two different movies, two different actors and both brought something to the table different in both movies. This one in particular is like a crazed Looney Tunes viarity show than it is played Horror, so don't expect the Thrill and Chill you would get from a Nightmare on Elm Street.
The movie also has it's Eye-candy too, alot of nudity ( of course not enough to make it porn thank god ) and even alot of gore, oh and yes, IT DOES OFFEND JEWS,GAYS,BLACK,HISPANICS ect. So try going in on it with an open mind if you can.

And may I mind you, the budget, was extremly cut down in this one, so incase you should notice some difference that why, but don't let that rob you from seeing this movie. Not at all. This was filmed within Ten days, and what makes it as special and its the same with REPO! Is that there is currently a strong fan base, in where because of low budget, Tim resorted to fans to help out even with the soundtrack to the film. So in a way, its a Film by the Horror community and the fans.
And if you support movies like the original 2000 maniacs or 2001 maniacs, or Repo and none of that Michael Bay Remake crap, then you will not be disapointed
