Plot Summary
It's the end of spring in Boston, Massachusetts. With summer approaching, 16 year-old America has two issues, or so she thinks. She hates school and her aunt Carolina's alcoholic husband, Joey. She passes the days shoplifting, hanging out with her friends and trying to avoid Joey. But after a life-changing event, America, whose Spanish is limited, is sent to Buenos Aires, Argentina to live with her reclusive and anti-American grandmother, Lucia America Campos. In Argentina, America struggles to find her place. An entertaining and thought-provoking coming of age tale with a decisive reference to the Latino American experience. Cristina Kotz Cornejo has recently been retained by Film Independent Director's Lab for a production.

rent, buy, buy, rent,
who do we have to write to to be able to rent a movie? i dont understand why a movie can be rented at blockbuster or other such places but on itunes we can only buy it. why am i forced to choose between paying over 10 dollars to buy a movie i might not like or not watching the movie at all. do they even realize that they lose money by not making it available to rent. if i cant rent, i wont watch, i dont watch, i dont pay, i dont pay, they dont get money. that is to itunes and the movie companies that make the contracts with itunes. half of these movies i can wait a month and watch them for free on tv... so just save me the frustration and make all movies available to rent and buy at the same time, and you will make more money.... isnt that what you big time companies are after anyway... money
i appologize for venting my frustration here, but i wanted to watch this movie, i cant rent it and dont want own it especually when there are no reviews to give me an idea if other people like it.
I wouldn
Basically, I watched a trailer that made this movie look pretty good, and as a person learning Spanish, I thought I'd give it a chance. I was somewhat disappointed in it. The main crippling factor of the entire movie is pretty bad acting, especially in the first 25 minutes of the movie. The rest of the movie you can tell that the actors have in their head exactly what they're going to do next, making their acting seem really methodical and it reminds you, the viewer, that you're watching a movie and this isn't a real story. Anyways, the story is alright and cohesive, the cinemetography and camera work is good. So, there it is. If you can cope with subpar camera acting and a pretty lame dialogue, I'd say that you might find this movie better than average. If you can't, then I'd recommend renting/buying some other Spanish language movie here on Itunes, like Sin nombre, Open Your Eyes, Rudo y Cursi, or Todo sobre mi madre.
