Plot Summary
An adventurer's group undertakes to do a robbery of a gold mine at the core of Guyana. But the operation doesn't happen as planed and, while their escape, their chopper must emergency land on the middle of the jungle. They have six hundred kilos of gold...but now they must carry on their back in hostile land. The loot begins bulk. The six runaways (four men and two women) go into the jungle. Climate, insects, tiredness, the threat of pursuers, all compete to make impossible their long walk. The forest seems have to close up on them. And cohesion group suffer from gold fever...

Rental at best
Where to start? the plot is relatively poor and completely unrealistic (an helicopter driver and his completely inexperienced team of pseudo-adventurers deciding to plot a major gold robbery, really??!! please try harder...), acting performances are weak overall including Clovis Cornillac who is rather disappointing especially in comparison to what he did in prior movies (e.g. Le Serpent); hard to blame the actors too much though as the acting is in reflection of the characters that have very little depth and it is also very difficult to believe that any real work went into the dialogues.
In summary, the movie leaves a strong taste of unachieved, it feels like a cheap and pale version of a blockbuster (without the entertainment part), not the first french director to fail in the action genre...
Great movie
I am glad to have rented this movie. If you want a rambo type movie, this is not the good choice. A lot of action, the good ones are not so good and bads are really bad ones. Guyanne is a very nice place, with its jungle. I recommend it !!
