Top Critics' Reviews
Rotten: Although it's often laugh-out-loud laughably bad, 88 Minutes is mostly just a slog.
Rotten: Try as he might to 'hoo-ha' some life into this stupendously stupid thriller, Al Pacino can't disguise the desperation of this CSI wanna-be.
Rotten: An inane thriller whose major fear factor hinges on a menacing phone call, the film also relies on a silly phrase intended to fill the viewer with unspeakable terror: 'Tick tock, Doc.'
Rotten: Avnet lays all this stuff out before us with a straight face -- the picture is humorless and witless.

Instantly the Worst Movie of the Year (1.5 mics)
I personally love the majority of Al Pacino's films, he's stared in some of the greatest movies of all time. And trust me that's not an over statement, he's stared in Francis Ford Coppola's Godfather films (which have won numerous awards including Acadamy Awards for best picture), to Sidney Lumet's Award Nominated Serpico & Dog Day Afternoon. However, this movie proves that it's not the actors that make a film, it's always the storyline. As it turns out the screenwriter for the film was a first timer, as well as Jon Avnet did a horrable job directing the film. Overall it ranks to be a extremely poorly made movie, and not one I'd recommend to anyone with an interest in quality films with a storyline.
I thought it was amazing
its a very good movie if you like movies like vantage point
Dull
The pace was slow, the dialogue strained and Al's character lacked credibility ... a college prof who moonlighted as an FBI forensic psychiatrist who just happened to carry a gun.
