This very expensive Italian-made adaptation of Homer's "The Odyssey" stars Kirk Douglas as seafaring hero Ulysses. A cheesy, but entertaining excursion into mythology, Douglas a bit hammy and Anthony Quinn chews on some fat as well. A guilty pleasure.

Read the book. Douglas is very good, as is the rest of the cast, but this tale has too much to say to be confined in one film. A series of TV movies might work with the right script writer.
