I havent read this book or ordered it yet, but what I am here to do do forewarn everyone looking to purchase this book, or topics similar to this one:
Hasbara is an Hebrew word defined as explanation. The purpose of Hasbara is to explain
and educate western people about the Israeli mission. Hasbara can take many forms,
adverts, websites, comments on blogs, letter writing, protests and so on. For a fuller idea of
the depth of Habsara check this tool-kit from the We Believe in Israel Website. (made by
BICOM). The difference between propaganda and hasbara? I would say Hasbara is more of
a soft sell at first, it seeks to inform, influence and educate the ignorant to the Israeli cause.
The narrative of Hasbara has a victimized quality underpinning it, a very passive-aggressive
approach, Israel is always defending not attacking. They play the mis-understood victim and
invite their critics to attack them. The sub-current being that Israel's message is not
understood. Israel views that the reason for this is either lack of education or stupidity. So
the Hasbara agents explain until they realise that they are getting nowhere and then
respond with disdain and disgust.
SOCIAL STRATEGIES
Key individuals are identified, some support Israel others oppose. These are the
influencers, on Twitter they are people with over 1 000 followers and over 1 000 tweets. By
seeking to influence and control these key individuals, Hasbara agents can influence many
many more. Hasbara trolls on twitter try to act as shepherds for the tweeps, making them go
this way or that.
A troll traditionally on the Internet is someone indulges in off-topic abuse.
1. a troll is someone who posts inflammatory
2.

Shlomo Sand is the one who believes that there was not a "Jewish people" but all were Khazars from Asia who converted to Judaism. He wrote two books, best sellers, which denied the legitimacy of the Jewish people, the right for a country etc. While every historical, archeological and DNA data refutes Sands imaginary theory, anti Semites use Sands writing as anti Israel propaganda. Harry Ostrer, a Jewish professor of genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine results of a DNA study show “powerful genetic markers of Jewish ancestry”. Sand says “the affinity between Jews and the holy land, I don’t think the religious affinity to the land gives you historical right.” Yet, I do not mind if you agree with Sand, you must than admit that United States of America is even more illegitimate as a nation. At least "settlers" to Palestine had a common Jewish religion which US immigrants do not and did not have. Same applies to every country none of which have a unique pure one origin nation. From Canada, New Zealand, Brazil and every European country non have a one genetic pool and humanitarian origin. Nazi Germany tried to "purify" their nation by excluding, killing those who did not fit their dogma. In a way Sand is thinking is consistent with Nazi ideology: the race must be pure for a country to be legitimate. And if Israel has diverse Jewish, by religion, population, Jews from Europe, Ethiopia, Africa etc. these do not count by Sands criteria as a nation than US, Canada, Australia are even more illegitimate . Sand says that "Israel “one of the most racist societies in the Western world”. This is not only baseless, factually wrong, but philosophically inconsistent with Sand theory that there is no Jewish nation, Israel is an "invention".Read more ›
