Looking for a read that warms your heart, makes you smile a little, sigh a little, and feel more than a little good about the goodness that can be found in people? Then please, come to Thunder Point and read THE HOMECOMING. Robyn Carr is back in top form once again in this fifth installment in the THUNDER POINT series, which keeps us in touch with all of the characters we've come to care so much for in this cozy Oregon coast town. At the forefront this time are Seth Sileski, a hometown boy who left as a teenage football star with a dream and a big future which was destroyed by a life-changing accident, and Iris McKinley, his childhood next-door neighbor and former best friend, who harbors a secret heartbreak which Sean caused, but of which he is unaware. Seth returns to replace Mac McCain, newly promoted to Coquille, as deputy sheriff-in-charge of Thunder Point. Action and subplots develop on multiple fronts for both Seth and Iris: personal, professional, and community, making this an entertaining, heartwarming, romantic, and dramatic read. Reading a Robyn Carr book is like coming home on a cold, rainy night to a home warmed by the fireplace, a comfy chair, and a steaming cup of hot cocoa (insert contented sigh here). Miss Carr is my number one feel-good read.

I really love the Thunder Point series. I get very attached to the recurring characters from book to book. I don't like to go into a lot of detail on stories as I am concerned with spoiler alerts. But if you like the Virgin River series, you will like all of these stories as well.

Robyn Carr has once again written an outstanding book. The characters are so real and the story line is magnificent. I especially like the fact that she always brings a current issue into her stories. This was my favorite of her books and I have read many of them.

There were some great things in this book and a few disappointing things. Let me start with the disappointing so we can end on a good note. Robyn Carr does not usually use the "f" word and she used it in weird places in this book. This book is part of a series. Robyn usually updates us on all the other characters we had met in the past - there were not many updates in this book.

Now, lets get to the good part. Seth and Iris are a really cute couple. It was fun to watch them come together. I love how Robyn Carr handles secrets with her characters - she does not wait until the last pages to reveal the secret. She gives plenty of time for her characters to work things out. She really knows how to tell a story.

I really liked how Robyn Carr handle the abusive situation. I thought it was great to see a school counselors responsibilities. It was encouraging to watch these characters confront abuse head on - as scary as that is.

As usual I am looking forward to her next installment in this series.

For those of you familiar with Robyn Carr and the way she breathes life into her characters and draws her readers in to the wonderful little town of Thunder Point, Oregon, The Homecoming will be a welcome return visit where romance is discovered by a couple who have been friends forever with one never realizing that love was there all the time. We get to catch up with the characters we have met in previous books in the series as well as add the new ones which helps to make richer an already interesting town full of interesting people.

Seth Sileski has returned to his hometown, older and wiser and ready to make some positive changes in his personal life as well as his town by taking over the Sheriff's office in Thunder Point. And one of his top priorities is to reconnect with the best friend of his youth, Iris McKinley. Iris isn't at all sure how she feels about Seth being back in town since he is responsible for her first, last and only broken heart and what's worse is he doesn't even realize what he did. What he thinks of as a simple misunderstanding about prom in reality was a whole lot more than that and even after all these years, Iris is determined never to let Seth have that kind of power to hurt her again. But Seth is as handsome and formidable as ever and once he learns the truth about the past, he is even more determined than ever to find out how he really feels about Iris and if it's possible to get past the hurt he unknowingly caused her and to see if there is any chance that these feelings he has always had for Iris could be love.

Iris and Seth are both very appealing characters. The attraction between them is obvious and they are both very dedicated to making sure that things in Thunder Point, especially the youth are well taken care of and protected.
