First-time author Georgie Marie is a retired professional cake decorator. She graduated from South High School in Denver, Colorado, and attended Opportunity School with plans of becoming a music teacher. She instead fulfilled her dreams of marrying her childhood sweetheart, with whom she has five children. After becoming a grandmother, she enrolled in a creative writing class. She lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is a great-great grandmother.
Kudos to the author for this attempt but although I tried I just couldn't like this book. The characters needed more development and the dialog seemed a bit out of date. However, I did feel like the author was sharing some of her history and personal thoughts and that made it a bit more interesting. The character - and author - are of an age where women stayed in unhappy marriages out of a sense of duty. The affairs are her escape but she mentally punishes herself for them as she tries to reconcile her two selves.

No Good-Bye by Georgie Marie keeps you intrigued from the very beginning. The way Georgie writes, we are so engrossed in the story, we feel like we are characters. She does an excellent job describing the setting - so much I could smell the coffee as the radio played on. No Good-Bye leaves us wondering, what if? Leaving us to ponder the endless possibilities of life's surprises. We enjoyed this book until the very end, leaving us wanting more. Good Job Georgie!

I like these older people authors. I had read 3 of the 84 year old Fred Regenold's books, and he is an outstanding author with real steam in the sex, and the characters come alive. What is it with these senior citizens, because I had thought they were stuffy, when it comes to sexy stories. Georgie Marie has lived it, apparently like Mr. Regenold must have, because it all fits, like they have been there, done that and know how to describe it. Whew!!! These two authors should get together:)

Have you ever read a book that captures your imagination and consumes every thought? If not, you need to read No Good-bye! Every word is written in such a way that one feels as if they are living vicariously through Gloria with her meteoric highs and her devastating lows. If you're looking for a gripping novel that takes your imagination to new heights, then I would highly recommend this book.

Really ??? This book was terrible! I gave it a go because it was written up in the news as being a 'Hot Steamy' book written by an 86-yr old, and her first novel. It was clear- first novel AND written by an 86 yr old. And to think I mentioned it to my book club. I am so glad I read it before we made our selection. Terrible. Just terrible.

Very well written. I enjoyed maturing along with Gloria over the years, watching her children grow up and her husband aging along gracefully. Yet she still had desire in her heart that still thrived to be fulfilled. I would definitely recommend this book for a woman in her 30-40's and feeling like there is nothing else to life except raising her kids and being a good wife. Gloria proved to me there is more to life if you just take a chance and open to something new.

I heard of this book on a morning radio show I listen to. The Kidd Kraddick crew interviewed this author and I was intrigued that a woman her age had written a book and fulfilled her dream. I ordered the book that day and really enjoyed it...pretty risqué but I applaud this woman for writing it and letting go of the misconceptions that come along with advanced age....as a nurse I have come to realize that old people were not always old!
