"Some of the intensity left Vincent's face and his mouth twisted into a boyish grin, but he never broke eye contact."
Books in the Surrender series should be read in order: Book 1: Forbidden Surrender Book 2: Secret Surrender Book 3: Beautiful Surrender
In Forbidden Surrender recent Harvard graduate and wealth manager Kristen Daley and her colleague have traveled to South Africa to pitch tattooed surfer turned self-made Billionaire Vincent Sorenson on their wealth management company investing his fortune.
Story then follows Vincent and Kristen as he zeroes in on her in a bit of insta-lust/insta-love while Kristen spends her time brushing him off and denying her attraction to her potential client, citing conflict of interest. The merry-go chase takes us from South Africa back to New York and beyond as they are both trying come to terms with their forbidden feelings. But when dark forces from Kristen's past resurface will Vincent be the one running away?
HERO: Vincent Sorenson/31 years/$$$$/CEO Sandworks/dark blond hair/brown eyes/piercings, tattoos. Underneath the Armani suit we have a bit a bad boy with tattoos and piercings but mostly an honorable man. Vincent Sorenson came from nothing and possesses the drive to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Seven words to describe Vincent: Relentless, charming, noble, driven, thrill-seeker, reasonable and complex.
HEROINE: Kristen Daley/25 years/wealth manager/recent Harvard graduate/dark brown hair/brown eyes. I had a harder time connecting with Kristen Daley, but the bottom line is; she is what Vincent wants and what is needed to keep the story and chase going.Read more ›

If you've read Fifty Shades or Bared to You.....you've basically read this series. It did keep my attention and I did read all 3, but there are so many similarities that it makes me sad. We know he's rich. We know she's had a bad past. We know he's demanding. She has a best friend she lives with and tells everything to who roots for the guy. He travels a lot. She's jealous. Crazy stalkers. WE'VE READ IT. I love these types of books! That's why I read all three. It is well written. BUT WHY is there no originality? If you're going to read it...just be prepared to read all 3. They really should have just been one book - they are very short. I'm not sure why it's split into three. There is absolutely no closure at the end. It's just like the chapter ends and begins in the next book.

In Forbidden Surrender Kristen meets Vincent Sorenson when she goes to land him as a client for her company. Vincent, the image of a filthy rich, high powered, adrenaline seeking bad boy agrees to go with Kristen's company as long as she is his only point person. Will they keep their relationship strictly business or will it venture to the personal?
The story was told from the POV of Kristen and definitely drew me in. It also left me wanting more -- I wasn't ready for the book to end. The story contains sexual tension, romance, passion, and sweetness. Both Kristen and Vincent were strong characters and I enjoyed watching them get to know each other. This was my first time reading Priscilla West and I really enjoyed her writing style. Forbidden Surrender was an enjoyable, quick read. I would recommend this book and I will also be reading the next book in this series.

Kristen is a play by the rules, focus on the path in front of you, take no detours kind of girl. When she meets with adrenaline junkie, bad boy billionaire Vincent Sorenson the sparks are there, but she will do whatever she can to keep her distance and avoid the distraction and heartbreak that could come from Vincent. The first book in this series, Forbidden Surrender, did start off a bit slow for me. Kristen is at times uptight and refuses to let loose which at times left me frustrated with her character. Vincent is WOW, the perfect character for a sexy billionaire. Their personalities are on opposite sides of the spectrum, but they even each other out and made the story more interesting. Vincent brings out the feistiness in Kristen and at the same time is patient with her hesitations of stepping outside of her comfort zone. I really felt this book was a great start to the series.

He can have any woman he wants and probably has, but his eyes have set on Kristen, especially after the surprise 'nipple play' during the meeting. Deciding to follow his natural desires, he aims to mix business with pleasure by agreeing to become Kristen's new client, but only if he works with her directly.
In a quick snap Kristen's strong walls of self preservation have caved and Vincent has worked himself into her organized little world. This totally goes against what Vincent is looking for at the moment, however he's willing to make an effort to get what he wants.
