From the Author

Maybe Someday is more than just a story.  It's more than just a book.  It's an experience, and one that we are excited and grateful to share with you.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with musician Griffin Peterson in order to provide an original soundtrack to accompany this novel.  Griffin and I worked closely together to bring these characters and their lyrics to life so that you will be provided with the ultimate reading experience.
In the ebook version, you will find eight direct links embedded within the story.  If you choose to hear the song, the link will take you to the soundtrack website where you will be able to hear the music for free.  In the paperback version you will find a QR code that, when scanned, will direct you to the music.

Thank you for being a part of our project.  It has been incredible for us to create and we hope it will be just as incredible for you to experience.

More About the Author

Colleen Hoover's love for writing began in 1985 when she was five years old. Her first story was titled "Mystery Bob" and was a huge hit with her mother, who was really good at faking interest.
Colleen continued to write short stories for friends and family until December of 2011, when she decided to write a long story she titled, "Slammed." She self-published SLAMMED to Amazon in January, 2012 and it hit the NYT's bestsellers list in May, 2012. She has since signed with Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and now has six NYT's bestsellers. Colleen prefers to be called a writer, as the term "author" still terrifies her and makes this feel like a job with expectations. She doesn't work well under pressure and hopes writing will always remain fun and exciting.
Colleen's newest novel, UGLY LOVE, releases August 5th, 2014. She is currently working on a new novel, CONFESS, which she is writing as fast as she can before she wakes up from this crazy dream.

You can follow Colleen on Instagram and Twitter @colleenhoover. You can also find her on her blog at www.colleenhoover.com where she holds a daily book-a-day giveaway, or on her very active Facebook page at www.facebook.com/authorcolleenhoover where she loves to give away more free stuff when her husband isn't looking.

Colleen also wants the world to know that writing short biographies in third person is incredibly awkward.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to be given an opportunity to review Maybe Someday before it's release. But I had so many other books lined up that I had to keep putting it off. Till yesterday at least. Yesterday I decided was going to be the day. I sat down thinking I would start it and hopefully finish it today or tomorrow. That didn't happen.

I stayed up all night. I couldn't put it down. The time flew by and before I knew it, it was 6am and I was sobbing.

I won't lie and say I never cry reading because I do. I think we all do. However, there are very few books that make me cry several times and even fewer that cause me to break down. Colleen Hoover ALWAYS makes me break down. I think I love her and hate her for it. She has this unique ability, that I'm convinced very few people possess, to stab you in the heart with words. Words that she writes in such a way, that they not only stab you, they dig in and twist and turn. They get so far into your heart that you can't breathe because it hurts. You sit there trying to get the words out of your heart. You put the story down. You get up and pace. You take a drink of water. Anything to quell the onslaught of emotional distress these words cause you. But you can't. You can't because Colleen's words aren't poison that you want out of your body. They're words that speak to on our most basic level, they're words of love, friendship, compassion, trust. They're words of endearment, longing, passion, and faith. They're words that every one of us wants no needs to hear in our lifetime. They're words that leave you breathless. They're words that leaving you a sobbing mess on your couch.

I'm not going to reveal any major spoilers however this next part is a little revealing.

I am not really one to post a review. This is actually only the second one I have ever done. And I read A LOT! As an avid reader, I know what I like and what I don't. I need a happy ending. I need likable characters. I need humor. I read for pure joy and entertainment. If that entertainment includes tears I am ok with that. I am ok with with tension and sadness as long as there are lighthearted moments thrown in. This is what Colleen Hoover does so well. The thing I do NOT like in books is a love triangle. I loathe them. They make me anxious. It usually cheapens the integrity of all involved. So how has Colleen Hoover made me in love with this book?! I am not going to go into plot. But the characters are each involved in relationships when they meet. Their foundation is built on friendship and a mutual interest in music. I did love the music aspect by the way. Ridge is amazing and caring and perfect. Sydney is funny and selfless and is a genuinely nice person. The other characters are likable and add humor and depth to the story. (Except Hunter and Tori) I stayed up way too late because I could not go to bed without closure. That is a sign of a good book. I was in a huge book slump and everything I was reading was running together and I felt I was reading the same story over and over. Thank you Colleen Hoover for pulling me out of the slump.

"For her I bend, for you I break."

**insert me in a puddle on the floor**

I stumbled across Slammed awhile ago. I wasn't big into reading, but I'm pretty sure it was Slammed that pulled me in and made me the book fanatic that I am. I forced everyone I knew to read that book and my goodness I am so happy that I did because it led me to all her other books. And other awesome authors.

This book Maybe Someday... is the best Colleen Hoover book yet. It might be because it's shiny and new, but I think it's because it was just perfect for this part of my life. When I read Slammed it was perfect for that part of my life. I want to drop my ratings on other books because this book is perfect. To be honest I knew the book was music related because Griffin and it was by Colleen Hoover so it was on my TBR, but I hadn't paid a whole lot of attention to what people were saying, because I like to be surprised. It went in a whole different direction than what I expected. "Oh, my dear sweet baby Jesus in a wicker basket." LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AS YOU READ THE BOOK. It makes more sense. Colleen Hoover is always adding great music to her books. First the Avett Brothers, now Griffin Peterson.

To me this book is about a lot of things. It's about doing the right thing even when you don't want to. Your brain and heart in an epic battle. Just because you love someone doesn't mean your meant to love them the way you want to right at that moment. You can't risk your other relationships and priorities because of what your heart wants. If you're patient you'll get your Maybe Someday. More than anything to be it's about the relationships your willing to risk for love.

Thank you Colleen Hoover for another awesome book.

Until reading Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover, I’ve never before finished a book and been at a loss for words. Don’t get me wrong, I was more than satisfied with the conclusion, but it took some time to recover from the emotional roller coaster of the narrative. Maybe Someday is one of those books that the less you know going into it, the better. The single best part of reading this book was that it is so unlike anything I’ve ever read that I had no choice but to stop attempting to predict what would happen next.

Will and Lake; Dean and Hope; Daniel and Six; these unforgettable couples sprung from the imagination of Colleen Hoover, and the author has outdone herself yet again with protagonists, Ridge and Sydney. These are characters that are far from perfect but despite their flaws, I couldn't help but love them anyway. Their intense connection and undeniable attraction to each other gave the story an element of excitement and intrigue, as did the connection they established through their mutual love of music. It's a testament to Collen Hoover's writing that I was so drawn to their unconventional relationship, because I felt that in less capable hands, the narrative could’ve easily turned me against Ridge and Sydney.

This is the type of book that makes you experience a host of different feelings, all in the span of a few sentences. One moment I was smiling from ear to ear and the next I was overcome with devastation. I've read every book that Colleen Hoover has published and it never ceases to amaze me that she continues to write consistently brilliant stories. The narratives may change from book to book but her ability to create captivating characters that evoke intense emotions doesn't change.
