About the Author
Joanna Wylde has written several erotic romances for Ellora's Cave and lives in Idaho. She is also the author of Reaper's Legacy and Reaper's Property.
I am a freelance writer living in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I started writing fiction in 2002, then took a long hiatus to explore other writing opportunities. I returned to fiction in January 2013 with Reaper's Property, the first book in the Reapers Motorcycle Club series.
The dynamic between Picnic and London iin Reaper's Stand is much different than the relationships Joanna Wylde has penned in the previous Reaper books. These characters are older than the main characters in the previous installments, for one. London is 38, Picnic, 43. As Wylde explains in a brief preface at the beginning of the book, these characters aren't still trying to figure out who they are, they're not still in the age of self-discovery, as the younger characters were in earlier books. They know who they are, they're set in their ways, they've lived... which, of course, sets the reader up for a much different ride in this story than the ones we've taken before. This story feels different. Still rife with uncertainty, Picnic and London's relationship is unpredictable. Picnic, a widower with no plans to ever take on an old lady again in his life. London, a divorcee who certainly doesn't intend to become Reaper property, especially to the club president who isn't known to settle down with one woman. They agree to date, but nothing else is certain.
I love a story where two characters think they are in complete control of the casual relationship they agree upon, but they slowly slip into something they never planned on. However, as in any relationship blooming amidst the fictional biker lifestyle, there's always that fear that the biker can not be tamed... and the female counterpart will end up emotionally shattered. And I love that. I love that angst, that uncertainty, the potential for pain. Wylde delivers everything I love in this story, and hits it home even harder than she has previously. Which is why this is my favorite book in the series so far!

I loved this addition to the Reapers Motorcycle Club series! It was a fun adventure watching Picnic (Reese) finally move on after the death of his wife and his two girls moving on and fall for London who had some issues of her own. I laughed, cried and could not put the book down. The two teasers at the end left me wanting to see more of the series and I hope in the future we see more of Puck, Jessica, Kit, and any of the other members!

Picnic isn’t my favorite character, but Wylde wrote such a polished fast pace book, I couldn’t help but love it.
If you don’t want a sneak peek of the future, I would tell you to skip the prologue, I’m not a fan of foreshadowing, so I’m just warning you.
We all know Pic is a crazy ladies’ man and yeah it’s kind of iky because he’s so old, but looking past that, he’s your typical biker guy right? He can’t get over his dead wife and he copes by screwing every girl.
London owns a cleaning business. She also supports her young cousin. When London starts cleaning the MC’s businesses, she finds herself cleaning Pic’s house and can’t help but get warm and fuzzy feelings around him.
I really like biker books but because I do, it’s very hard to find one that isn’t so typical or annoying. Wylde hit the mark on this one.
SO MUCH HAPPENS There’s a lot that goes on. There’s biker politics, then Pic’s issues, then London’s issues and the girls she has to take care of, oh my.
I love London, I thought she was strong, successful and independent. I liked how she was intimidated by Pic, but was still feisty around him. She also has a warm motherly kind heart.
London doesn’t want to get mixed up with the bikers, but when her cousin parties with the guys, London asks Pic for a favour. She wants Pic to get her cousin and ask her to leave. Pic agrees if London cleans for him. Of course that is not all the drama. There’s the threat of the cartel and Pic not trusting anyone. London continues to push Pic away because she doesn’t want to get mix with him, but Pic goes on strong .
Cute storyline huh? Overall, it’s a fun and fast read. If you love the series, you will not be disappointed.
