Review

"I really enjoy this audiobook; it's heartbreaking, loving, hurtful, faithful, torturous, fantastical, amazing, and crushing. It's a roller coaster of emotion and you can really feel it." ---Books, Coffee & Wine --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

About the Author

K. Bromberg is that reserved woman sitting in the corner that has you all fooled about the wild child inside of her—the one she lets out every time her fingertips touch the computer keyboard. She’s a wife, mom, child rustler, toy pick-er-upper, chauffer, resident web-slinger, LaLaloopsy watching, American Girl doll dressing multi-tasker of all things domestic and otherwise. She likes her diet cokes with rum, her music loud, and her pantry stocked with a cache of chocolate. K. lives in Southern California with her husband and three children. When she needs a break from the daily chaos of her life, you can most likely find her on the treadmill or with Kindle in hand, devouring the pages of a good, saucy book. Fueled is K. Bromberg’s second published novel and is the highly anticipated second book of “The Driven Trilogy.” Driven was her well-received debut novel and Book #1 of the series.

I can't even put into words the emotions I felt while reading this. I loved Driven the first book in the series but this one was off the charts amazing. Being able to see another side of Colton and his past really made me like him more. It explained so much about him. Rylee was a great character but at times seemed to want to find fault in Colton for things that his past controlled. Working with the boys at the house I would have figured she would have a better insight and understanding of Colton. The emotions that were portrayed had me in tears one minute and screaming the next. There is so much to say but I don't want to give any spoilers. All I can say is my heart literally fell out of my chest in parts. Grab some tissues and a long day because you will not be able to put it down.

I honestly didn't think that this book could be better than the first...definitely proven wrong. Now I have to patiently wait for third. Absolutely a 5 star book!

I loved Driven. Both Colton and Rylee were character that you connected with for one reason or another, sometimes equally hating them while loving them. But there was a lot to Colton that we didn't know and I was anxious to see how he would redeem himself from the cliffhanger ending in DRIVEN. To say I have been knocked on my ass and turned into an emotional ball of goo by FUELED is an understatement.

I savored this book over three days, not wanting to let go of Rylee and Colton, despite some of the truly heartbreaking and anger evoking actions both of them took. Colton's horrific early childhood makes itself known in FUELED and becomes the crux of the issues between Rylee and Colton. Not the acts themselves or even some of the deeper scars they have left. But instead, Rylee's need to have some sort of validation to what she and Colton have in the form of those three little words, words he can't and won't ever be able to say, cause a lot of insecurity within Rylee and reduces her to throwing Colton's old method of easing his pain (in the form of any and/or every available woman) back in his face.

This is not an easy read. There is very little lightheartedness to the story, and often those instances of happiness end up being ruined by something one or both of them do. While I love Rylee, for who she is, what she's been through and what she does for broken boys that need to be shown they are worthy of love, she managed to amaze me at how unwilling she was to remove the blinders to some of the issues she had with Colton. Colton hasn't come right out and told her specifically what happened to him, she has a pretty good idea. She sees the signs and recognizes them in what she sees in her boys at The House.

There are certain books that get under your skin. Some characters that embed themselves in your head and heart. Fueled is that book to me. The first book, Driven, lit the fire but the second book, Fueled (The Driven Trilogy), ignited an inferno that engulfed me.

I've very rarely come across a second book in a series that is stronger than the one before. K. Bromberg brought her A-game to this one. Where second books usually lag or are more subdued in intensity, Fueled kicks it up ten notches.

If you don't believe me about Fueled's intensity, read the first few pages. It's in your face, it's raw emotion, and it killed me to read it. Fueled begins with you as a voyeur to Colton's nightmare as he sleeps. The way K.B. wrote this scene makes you feel his fear, his shame, and his despair. I lost my head and my heart to this book and this man reading this scene.

Rylee and Colton are the same yet different this time around. They are less guarded in some ways, yet more in others. Colton is still fighting his feelings for Rylee. Rylee is still fighting for Colton. The difference is that they are much more open with each other. Colton opens up more emotionally to Rylee, and Rylee accepts that Colton is giving all he is capable of. They learn to compromise, but don't worry, there is plenty of sexual tension and frustration. ;)

K. Bromberg keeps you on your toes in this book. Right when you feel safe to sit back and take a breath, she pulls the chair out from under you. You think things are finally going to work out, but fate or others have it out for these two. Certain people will plant seeds of insecurity in the already insecure Rylee. Colton's past will not allow him to forget how that four letter "L" word only means pain and suffering.

This is the best book I have read in a long time. It is right up there and equal to Fifty Shades. The main characters, Rylee and Colton, have so much chemistry and fire that you will them to make it work. This is a book where you scream at the kindle to get the characters to listen. Kristy has written a great book and has created high expectations for the next one, as we fans are eagerly wait...Patiently.

The story is about two people who are in love but can't and won't acknowledge it to each other. They fight so hard to avoid falling in love that when it happens it scares them both. In the book they describe it as "bent not broken" Thanks to Pink we all know what that means. I have to say, I loved the ending. It was the logical ending to this book but had a few surprises that made it great.

Bravo to Kristy Bromberg as she out does herself each time she releases a new book. You got the stuff and we are your devoted fans.
