I grew up with a steady diet of William Shakespeare and Jane Austen. After all that literary immersion, I naturally decided to get a degree in mathematics, which came in handy when one of my six children needed help with homework. After my fourth daughter was born, I started writing. By juggling diaper changes, soccer games, music lessons, laundry, and two more children, I finished my first manuscript--a Western--in just under fourteen years. I now write Inspirational Amish Romance. My goal is to write uplifting, inspiring stories with happy endings and hopeful messages. If my books make readers want to give themselves a big hug or jump up and down for joy, I've done my job. I am a member of Romance Writers of America and American Christian Fiction Writers and am represented by Mary Sue Seymour of The Seymour Agency.

The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill is my new Amish Romance series set in Wisconsin on a little hill in Amish country.

The series is about an elderly Amish couple who try to find suitable mates for their grandchildren. What could be more fun than throwing two young people together to see if sparks ignite? No one would ever suspect two octogenarian Amish folks of mischief.

Romantic Times gave Huckleberry Hill 4 1/2 stars, calling it "A sweet romance with a lot of heart that offers a new, refreshing take on the...matchmaking trope. The storyline is feasible, the characters are well written, with both their strengths and weaknesses on display. Readers will treasure this series and put the first outing on their keeper shelf."

RT Book Reviews chose Huckleberry Summer as a TOP PICK with 4 1/2 stars: "The next installment of the Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series will hook readers with its love story, its sticky situations and a grandmother who only wants happiness for her grandchildren. Beckstrand brings new life to the age-old occupation of matchmaking."~ RTBookReviews.com 4.5 Stars

Jennifer has done it again. The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill series is her best work to date. This Christmas book is no exception to her great work. I could not put this book down Love is a gift from the heart and Jennifer knows how to show that on paper. It shines on every page.
I love a good Christmas romance and you are sure to fall in love with the characters (I love the grandparents) in this Christmas romance and still be thinking about them long after you have read the last page.
I gave this book 5 stars and I highly recommend this book.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

I just love reading Jennifer Beckstrand's books! I think you probably all know that by now!

I just finished reading Huckleberry Christmas. I can only say 5 stars. It was so good. It was fun, entertaining and just plain enjoyable!

This book has the lovable Anna and Felty Helmuth back to their match-making antics. This time it's for their recently widowed granddaughter, Beth. Beth has a young son, Toby and lots of hard to deal with memories of a very difficult marriage. So hard that thoughts of another marriage are the last things on her mind.

Anna has plans for Beth and Tyler Yoder. But those plans are not Beth's as she tries to arrange dates for Tyler, thinking she may have gotten a good match with Erla Glick. But is this what she really wants?

Her deceased husband's brother, Isaac, is also after her heart, feeling that she has responsibilities to their family, especially since her mother-in-law is very ill. Beth does go to their home to help and Isaac tries to claim Beth as his fiance. There are lots of fun twists and turns in this book.

Now this is entirely an aside from what I have written. I am a German and we eat "Bratwurst", commonly called "Brats". I have a brother-in-law who lives in Wisconsin, in fact, close to Bonduel. He is always talking about Brat buns. Well, I tell him Germans do not eat Brats on a bun. It just isn't done...he says in Wisconsin they have special buns for them. This is an ongoing laugh we have together. Well, it must be a "Wisconsin" thing, because Jennifer mentions Brat buns in her book which is set in Bonduel, Wisconsin. I had to laugh at this part. She really did her research! And then the line which Tyler states, "It's a crime to eat a Brat without one.

Back for another wonderful visit with Annie and Felty Helmuth, and Amish country in Wisconsin. Annie is back at her matchmaking for her grandchildren, and next on the list is Beth, and Annie-bannanie has chosen a fellow we met in the last book Tyler Yoder.
Now Beth has come to stay with her Grandparents, she is a young woman with a darling little boy. What we are about to find out was that she had been in an abusive marriage, and doesn’t plan to even put herself in that position ever again. She has been terrible hurt and needs a lot of healing and learning to trust God, not herself.
Then we have Tyler, was he hurt when his girl ended up with the Helmets grandson? Will he be interested in Beth? You will be surprised at how his feeling develop. Had to love this fellow and how he kept himself, and how deeply he followed his faith.
There are a few of Beth’s decisions that will make you cringe, and sometimes I felt like shaking her. I had to wonder if Beth would survive some of her former relatives. Come back again for a wonderful and joyful visit with the Helmut Grand/Great Grandparents, sure would love to have them for mine.
Throughout the story I felt God’s hand there and leading them to end up at the right spot at the right time. What a great story of Faith, and how it is shared in this community.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series, and there is a little tease offered!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Kensington Books, and was not required to give a positive review.

4 out of 5 stars, two Amish grandparents are up to more matrimony scheming by trying to bring together their granddaughter Beth--a widow with a toddler son who plans to never remarry--and Tyler. This charming romance deals with serious issues yet is still lighthearted throughout with Anna and Felty Helmuth's anecdotes and Beth's humor.

For it being the first novel in this series that I've read, it kept me updated and involved without feeling lost, which was helpful. In addition to liking the plot, Beth & Tyler's unique romance was a delight to read about!! Together they were a fun couple that kept each other on their toes while building a sweet relationship between them. It was also entertaining to read about Toby (Beth's son) with his new words, mannerisms, and cute "rebellious" ways.

Plus, I loved Anna and Felty's buildup for "Huckleberry Spring," I can't wait to see what Anna will talk Felty into doing for that novel. *hahaa*

I recommend this novel and series to anyone who enjoys Amish/Christian romances!
