Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her ereader attached. As an ex-reviewer and blogger, Harper's passion for reading runs deep. It wasn't until 'Axel' decided to take up residence that she realized her true calling.
She started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
Of course, when I first met Maddox Locke (way back in Axel), I just knew that he was going to be my favorite of all of the Corp Security men. I just knew it. I was not wrong.
Maddox Locke completely and totally stole my heart. Not only that, he obliterated it in the process. Then- he put it all back together and made it even more full. He's just that freaking amazing.
We all knew that when we got his story, the full story of all those demons he held in the blacks of his eyes, that it was going to be one for the record books. And it was. The pain and anguish that he had endured- yeah, he had every right to hold those demons close. He's lucky that they didn't fully consume him early on. For any normal man- I'm sure they would have, but not him. Not Maddox Locke. Why, you ask? Because Maddox Locke had one thing that normal men didn't have- Emersyn Keeze.
Emmy- god love her. I just want to be Emmy when I grow up- no other way about it. The amount of strength contained in one little woman's body- holy hell. The girl had gone through the female equivalent of Maddox's hell, and still managed to come out the other side. And through all of it, she still managed to fight for Maddox the entire time. She never gave up- not really. Even when she was sure it was the logical thing to do- she just couldn't. The woman was a true lioness when it came to fighting for her mate. She tackled his demons head on, and won. It was freaking phenomenal!!!
I just cannot imagine ever loving another one of Harper's couples as much as these two- they just own my soul. There just simply isn't room for anyone else. Maddox and Emmy are it for me. Harper made a fantastic conclusion to the Corp Secuirty series, and an even more fantastic opening to the next generation.
I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us, because I know, without a doubt, it is going to be completely amazing. She doesn't do it any other way. Well done lady- keep 'em coming!!

OMG!!!!!!! I absolutely loved this book. The whole series is awesome. Greg has been my favorite since the beginning & gradually Maddox has crept on me. I love his one word answers & strait to the point advice. The man on the cover is spot on on how I envision him. And what about Emmy? Who would've thought she came from Syn. I wanted to strangle her parents & Shawn. I have to say though that when Maddox rescues Emmy & breaks Shawn's dick, that was perfect. I hate rapists & they all deserve that. Props to Harper Sloan for this wonderful series. For me it's up there with 50 shades. I think Cohen & Dani will be needing a book. Just saying.

How do I even write this review through the tears! I've loved this series since the beginning and I hate to see it end. But I absolutely adored this book! Harper Sloan gave us the best of everything in this book and brought it all full circle! The way the book starts with us getting history and some much needed Coop. Then the recognition of Locke's importance in everyone of the girls lives was so important to me. The scene with Izzy, Dee, Melissa and Chelcie nearly broke me! Then there were the pictures. Such a sweet walk down memory lane! Not to mention we got to see plenty of everybody in this book including that beautiful, glitter loving man, Sway! I just loved every second I spent in this book!
To watch Locke emerge from the depths that have kept him chained for so long was worth the wait! It was painful at parts because we've grown to love him even without completely knowing him! Then when we get his story it hurts that much more! I loved the emphasis that is put on Locke's prosthetic. The fact that he should be proud and not ashamed. After all he is a Transformer! ;) Sweet little Cohen Cage who has known all along that his Maddox Locke was a hero! And thank God for Emmy! I loved that sassy firecracker! She had endured enough in her life but was willing to take on Locke's burdens too!
I've loved these alpha cavemen band of brothers since the word go! And despite never being in the right place at the right time as far as protecting their women they loved them fiercely, without apology! Thank you Harper Sloan!

It was so nice to see Maddox and Emmy get their story. There is so much more to Emmy than we thought. She may have been shy, but what a horrible past she had. Her parents were absolutely horrible and to overcome that was something great on her part. Cooper's role in getting Emmy out of there was so sweet and their bond was nice to read about. Maddox had no picnic in his childhood either. His mother was just plain cruel to him throughout the book. Mercedes deserved what she got from Emmy. It was nice to see Maddox finally let go of all of his baggage and realize that he was not defined by what he was told he was, it is defined by how he feels about himself. Emmy did a great job getting him to confront his demons and tackle them instead of letting them rule his life. It was a nice conclusion to this part of the series and probably one of my favorite books out of the series.

To say that I’ve been waiting for Maddox’s book ever since I read about him in Axel would be a massive understatement. As massive understatement goes, this book was a jumbled mess of purple prose, lul-wut-backstory, cartoonish villains and OTT dialogue.
I wasn’t actually bothered by Maddox’s stubbornness and the back and forth between him and Emmy was totally okay with me. I kind of expected that. I also expected more insight into Maddox’s psyche and how he dealt with losing his leg in the war. I thought this is where the angst was going to come from. I thought Maddox and Em’s story was going to poignant albeit rife with self-doubt and self-loathing. It wasn't. Far from it.
I won’t bore you with the summary of the story because we know about the will-they-or-won’t-they-dance Emmy and Maddox have been in since Axel. I will instead express why I was disappointed with Locke.
-Emmy's Back-story
Seriously, where the heck did Emmy’s past came from? That was just so far out of left field that it just didn’t make sense. There was no build-up, no clues to her past in the previous books. Did she have a personality transplant between book 4 and this book? I’d really like to know. She was written as this young, innocent, quiet woman and then bam!! Stripper royalty.
Sorry, but I just couldn't buy it.
And oh, don’t even get me started on why she went back there in the first place. And then after being repeated **smexual assault, Emmy just brushed it off and the next day, she was talking about spanking Maddox. What?
And speaking of abused heroines – oh yeah, again, we get another one of those types. I thought Emmy was going to be different.Read more ›
