Callie Brewster always had Finn O’Donnell’s back the entire time they were in Afghanistan. The two of them new doubted the loyalty or question whether the other was right there taking care of business. After they left military life Callie became the sole care giver to her nephew and Finn decided to become a rancher. They lost contact long enough to think the other one had moved on from their relationship but when Callie needs Finn to protect her nephew there was never a question of why just when.
Callie was not fond of ranch life but she is getting used to being part of a team again which she definitely loves. Finn is showing her nephew the ropes of a cowhand and giving her a little nudge or push in the direction of something happening between them. Everything goes in fast gear with these two as the three become four with the prior owner wanting back in and an assortment of animals the two are rescuing and adding to the blended family life that fits them.
Finn and Callie realize their relationship is so much more than friendship. As they deal with more people and animals finding their way into the house they realize that the love they have for each other is strong enough to survive anything even feuding neighbors or war time nightmares.
Snuggle up and enjoy an uplifting story of how two people become a family

I've read several of Brown's books in the past and enjoyed this one enormously. I'm still not sure if I cried or laughed the most while reading what has to be Carolyn Brown's crown jewel in her magnificent selection of cowboy romance books. The main characters, Finn and Callie, were people that I would give my eyeteeth to have as friends and the assortment of secondary characters (and they certainly were characters) could only be found on an episode of Andy Griffin. Toss in a couple dogs, a kitten and a bird that could swear like a sailor and few kids and this book was bursting with life and hope for the upcoming Christmas season. I've read several new Christmas books recently and have several more to read but doubt any will top the "Christmas story" of love and hope that Brown was woven for us in Cowboy Boots For Christmas.

If I was told, that I would only be allowed to read from one author for the rest of my life, I would choose Carolyn Brown! I wouldn't even have to think on it. Carolyn Brown never fails to put a smile on my face with her unique western romances. Each book is full of heart, country sass, strong heroines that you wish you could trade places with, and sexy, family oriented cowboys that will melt your heart. I was literally jumping for joy when Cowboy Boots for Christmas was released, because I know Carolyn Brown will deliver an extremely well written romance, that I can lose myself in for a few hours. Cowboy Boots for Christmas is definitely going to be a re-read for me, since it was so good! I have no idea how this author does it, to release so many fantastic romances, each of them better than prior, is not an easy feat.
This book revolves around Finn and Callie. These two have an amazing history. They both served in Afghanistan together and worked side by side on many missions. They lose touch with each other, until two years later when Callie tracks him down, at his new ranch outside of Burnt Boot. Callie is now the legal guardian to her nephew, and they both need protection because he witnessed a murder. Finn, of course, welcomes them with open arms.
Callie and Finn are perfect for each other, they balance each other out. It's a joy to watch them realize that they are more than friends and more than partners. The chemistry they have is so hot, you will be fanning yourself after reading about their kisses. Throw in a feuding family, a parrot that never stops talking, four children, and an adopted grandma, and hold on to your boots.
Cowboy Boots for Christmas is such a fun and sweet read that will leave you smiling through every chapter. I am definitely asking Santa to bring me cowboy boots for Christmas this year!!!! Everyone needs to read this book, it's a must read!

COWBOY BOOTS FOR CHRISTMAS is another splendid read from Carolyn Brown! I really love her books, and as usual, she has outdone herself on this one.
This book kicks off the new burnt Boot Series with a Christmas miracle for everyone involved in the story. The very sexy Finn O'Donnell is our hero in this one. He gets a second chance at love in this story. Callie was the woman who got away, so to speak. Finn seemed rather happy when his ex-partner unexpectedly showed up on his doorstep looking for a place to lay low for a while. It seems that her precocious young nephew saw something bad and now he's in danger. Things moved along very quickly and soon it's looking like something more permanent might be on the horizon for these two.
Then the story started taking some heartwarming and hilarious turns that absolutely thrilled this reader to death. The smile never left my face as I devoured it in one sitting. Now, admittedly, I am a huge fan who loves all of her books, but I can honestly say that this one is my favorite Carolyn Brown book yet. It was great! It's hard to express without giving too much away, but it was so heartwarming and emotional. It was something special that's for sure.
The characters were wonderful and there was an abundance of passion and laughter throughout. I can happily say that it had some memorably hilarious situations. This author must have one wildly creative imagination to dream this stuff up and bring it to the lucky readers. I've come to expect that with her books and she sure didn't let me down with this one. I tell you, I laughed right out loud until my kids wanted to know what was so darn funny in the book I was reading.Read more ›
