Editorial Reviews

Review

“We want to bask in this afterglow: giddy, blushing, and utterly in love with this book”. (Christina Lauren, NYT/USA Today & International Bestselling authors of The Beautiful Bastard Series, on RUSTY NAILED)

Wallbanger is an instant classic, with plenty of laugh out loud moments and riveting characters-highly recommended.” (NYT and USA Today best-selling author Jennifer Probst)

“Fun and frothy, with a bawdy undercurrent and a hero guaranteed to make your knees wobbly, WALLBANGER will keep you up all night. In a good way. Hilarious, romantic, and compulsively readable, WALLBANGER delivers the perfect blend of sex, romance, and baked goods.” (Ruthie Knox, best-selling author of About Last Night)

Caroline Reynolds. Finally a woman who knows her way around a man and a KitchenAid Mixer. She had us at zucchini bread! (Curvy Girl Guide on Wallbanger)

A funny, madcap, smexy romantic contemporary that had me reading straight through. Fast pacing and a smooth flowing storyline will keep you in stitches as Wallbanger and Nightie Girl begin the battle of the headboard. Filled with plenty of humor, sarcasm, engaging dialogue, and well developed characters-I didn’t stop laughing till the end. (Smexy Books on Wallbanger)

Really missed the laughter I experienced from Wallbanger as this sequel really didn't live up to the wonderfulness of the first book. Had to skim through so quickly just because I was bored. I did read the entire book and liked the epilogue and as another reviewer mentioned, Clive stole the show. I sadly gave the book 2 stars because I think the price did not live up to the content. If it were priced under $4 I would have probably given 3 stars but it took all I had to make it to the end. Hope future books bring back the funny that I experienced in first book.

5 BUTTERFLIES!

You know what to read now? No?

Rusty Nailed, of course! If not for our wallbanger, then do it for Clive. He really needs to for us to read his story... ahem... Simon and Caroline's story.
So... this is the second instalment in Alice Clayton’s contemporary adult Cocktail romance series that began with Wallbanger. Girls... seriously, don't miss it, because it has everything you want to find - romance, witty banter, hotsot neighbor, ex-master of THE HAREM. This is the man who can make you drop your panties in a second with his hotness and charm. But most importantly, he's a man who wouldn't suffocate you, but also be with you in a heartbeat if you need him. Sounds like the perfect prince charming of our modern times, right?

Well... he is... until he's not. But let me explain... Carolines working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running, especially since she's also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend photografing the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' mode and for her this is the perfect relationship. This was an aspeect I could easily relate to, because God knows how some of my relationships has ended because of my priorities, so I had known from the first moment when Simon decides to be home more, that this was going to be a problem for them.

But like always, Alice Clayton's writing makes you forget about the drama in the instant you reconnect with the group, because Neil and Sophia, Ryan and Mimi, and Jillian and Benjamin are here. And Clive. Of course there he is. Sincerely it's the first time when I go nuts everythime a cat is in the scene. Of course, it's not just any cat...

I know writing Sequels are difficult and writing an Awesome sequel is frustrating. It can be done, but not always work.

I am a big "Wallbanger" Fan. OMG I laughed so much with that book. Simon and Caroline were the perfect couple. And Clive? That cat has his own fandom! LOL

SO, yes I was looking forward to read "Rusty Nailed". I wanted to Love and adore it. Unfortunately I just like it. I expected, let's just say, More. But the magic of Walbanger Book one wasn't there.

For me it was a surprise I didn't love it as much as I wanted.

I felt the beginning was too slow. Then a lot of things where happening with Simon and Caroline's friend and sometimes felt like their story, was secondary.

The book is Ok. Don't get me wrong. But not what I wanted to read. I am a lithe sad.

AAAAAAHHHHHHH.
OMG what did I just read? I was so excited to read this book that I paid $20 for the audible version so I could listen to it while I worked. Big mistake. This is another failed sequel. I LOVED Wallbanger. It's still one of my favorite books. But this book doesn't compare.

First, why was so much of the book based on Neil and Sophia? The arguing regarding those two was so immature that it was pissing me off. Then you have the endless monolog going on throughout the book. So much irrelevant information just to fill in the pages. 1/3 of the book was about how busy she was at work and would actually detail the work for pages. The other third of the book was about Neil and Sophie and how they hate each other. I feel like hardly any of the book was about the Simon and Caroline.

Then you have the Caroline and her friends. It's like their mentality dropped down to that of 15 year olds. Caroline especially had me so damn frustrated. By the end of the book, I actually hated her. Her mood swings were so annoying as well. One minute she's upset for some stupid reason then she changes back to happy go me. I got so pissed when she got so upset about a guy who she had ONE date with, which she ended up hating, just because he was married and having a baby? WTH. The way she treated Simon is disgusting. She has a fit because he agreed with a lady saying a room could be a nursery? Ugh, what on earth did I read? I can go ON & ON about all the stupid little things she complained about but then I might as well write my own book.

Let's not forget how BORING this book was. I actually listened to it at the fastest speed possible just so I could finish it quicker. It's like what happened to the considerate fun h?

I just finished Rusty Nailed and I just absolutely loved it. You just have no idea until you read it. This is apart of the Cocktail Series and you must read Wallbanger first and man you are so missing out if you haven't read it! This story to me is not just about Simon and Caroline. It is so much more than that. It's about friendship. It's about the newness of a relationship. It's about working through obstacles. It's about loving someone no matter their faults. It's about growing as a couple and as friends. It's about compromise. This story continues at the end of Wallbanger with some added bonuses to it. I do not want to give really anything away so honestly just get your ass into gear and just read it to see what the fuss is about!!!!!

Gah! This story, hell even the whole series is just amazing. Laugh at loud, toe curling love of yummy goodness. It still reminds me of Sex and the City. I LOVE THAT!! I felt like I had finished a season and went straight into the second season but I'm sad because it is no more!! But I have happy tears that is no doubt. I just wish someone would pick this up and make a movie. I would so be there to see it over and over again!

Simon and Caroline are such a cute couple. Wallbanger to his Nightie Girl just had me from the get go. I still don't want to let them go and I have scenes running though my mind that just won't quit! Not as good as Miss Clayton I'm sure but hey what am I to do!! Her writing style just made me think I was watching a movie but I was only reading it you know. That's an amazing thing that she has going on. Not sure if she was trying to do that but it worked out for me like that.

The whole gang was there. Benjamin (the girls dream man) and Jullian get married. (Sweet moment).
