This is not a standalone novel. The second part is scheduled to be released Fall 2014.

I devoured this book after putting my kids to bed the other night. Reckless is filled with blush worthy moments as well as smart humor and a fun cast of sub characters. It is not just another erotic romance novel starring a sensitive bad boy rock star and the girl who caught his eye at a show.

When you first meet Jax and Riley, you realize that neither of these characters is going to be boring. I loved that they both gave as well as they got with their taunting and snarkiness. Their verbal banter leads to physical foreplay and even then they're still tying to out do one another. It's a bit of a game and it is laugh out loud funny at times.

It's not until one of them shows a vulnerability that their relationship grows toward something genuine. It's then that the intensity of their passion is truly felt. Their dynamic together works on so many levels but you can feel that they're both nervous about fully committing themselves to anyone. Jax is clearly holding onto some serious baggage from his childhood and Riley's past isn't free of emotional drama either. In the last few chapters, the two give more of themselves and in doing so their story leads up to a highly dramatic ending.

I appreciated that most of Jax and Riley's secrets are revealed and that the book ended how it did. Sometimes authors can leave readers with a horrible cliffhanger but that isn't the case with Reckless. I am already anticipating the conclusion of their story - I am sure I will be completely surprised and blown away by the storyline Priscilla West has planned for the two, as I am with all of her books.

I truly enjoyed this book - it's a highly entertaining read and I would recommend it.

4 1/2 Stars

Author Priscilla West rocked my world with her latest book, “Reckless”. Jax, the hero of the story and the lead singer of a band called ‘The Hitchcocks’, is one hot delicious man. And Riley, the accountant and heroin of the story is anything but a boring bean counter. Riley is feisty, strong and funny although she does have some past issues, but then who doesn’t? Jax on the other hand is a complex character. He’s sexy, smart and flirty. But Jax is also moody, dangerous and unpredictable.

One of the reasons I didn’t give this book 5 stars is because I felt that the way Jax and Riley met and then hooked up was totally unbelievable. But once I got into the book I didn’t really care how they got together.

Ms. West was able to create two main characters that I really cared about. She slowly revealed their personalities, idiocracies and secrets throughout the book. The book is character driven which I love. I do wish that Ms. West would have given us a little more background on the rest of the band members; Sky, Chewy and Kev. It would also have been nice for Riley to have a little more interaction with the other band members, especially Sky.

I think with a closer relationship between Sky and Riley Ms. West could have given the reader a better understanding of Jax and how he had behaved in the past rather than Jax just becoming a one woman guy overnight. (Actually I don’t know if Jax slept with a different woman every night or not because we don’t really get any history of Jax or the band so I’m just guessing/assuming.) If Sky and Riley were closer and talked about Jax then Sky could fill us in with some background history on Jax. Sorry I got off track there.

The book takes place as Riley goes on tour with the band as their accountant.

I received an ARC and I will say right now this is a Must Read. You never know what happens next and there are surprised around every corner.

Riley is an accountant by day. But, at night she likes to hint the clubs looking for a bad boy to hookup with. Well one night at a bar she find the biggest, baddest bad boy there is.

As Riley pushes her way to the front of the stage, she and Jax (the lead singer of the band) eyes meet. She wants him and he wants her.

But, once Riley gets backstage and sees what's going on. she wants nothing to do with the jerk, Jax.

Riley is given a job that could help her move up in her job and make money she needs. But, the catch is she has to go on tour with a band and handle their outrages expenses. She had no idea who the band is, because the only clue is the letters (HC)

She finally arrives and the first member of the band she meets is Chewie. I love him from the start. Chewie starts using an expenses gadget. Riley no Idea what he's doing. Finally, Chewie tells her he's checking to make sure there are no ghost around her. Once she heard the price he paid (because the cheap ones don't work) she knows it's going to be a long ride trying to get the band to cut down on their spending. What she wasn't expecting ones to find out it's the same band from the other night. They used a different name. The bands real name is The Hitchcock's.

Riley must face Jax again. Before she see's him she meets the rest of the group. Chewie's sister, Sky and Kev. And finally Riley runs into Jax again. Or does he run into her?

Jax & Riley right back and forth about the cuts that need to be made.

The band has a one of a kind Tour Bus. Once she is shown around the bus she cannot believe.
