Kate will never forget him. That beautifully intelligent man who stole her heart, her mind, body, and soul. Ian. Ian, who had to leave Kate to do some research in Botswana to find a mysterious fruit that holds magical powers.
They say that at the right time, in the right place, it can make you time travel.
Kate never forgot Ian, even after she married her husband Rob and had her two boys. She never forgot him.
Lemongrass Hope is one of the most exceptional books I have ever read. My love for it grew from, "This is a great book" to "This may be one of the best books I've been asked to review" to "Okay, this is one of the best books I've ever read."
It is extraordinary. Mind-boggling, captivating, emotional, addicting, and positively heartrending.
It's one of the best books I've ever, ever, ever read. Amy Impellizzeri is a beautiful writer, and her book is a treasure to behold. Ms Impellizzeri's words will captivate you and leave you breathless as you beg for more. And keep in mind I only read the uncorrected ARC (advance reader copy)... I can only imagine how breathtaking the final draft will be.
I've written and re-written this book review a few times. Each time I begin a sentence, I have to rewrite it in fear of it not being good enough for this story. This book deserves all five star reviews, and it deserves a spot on the New York Times Bestseller list. I could easily see this book becoming every book club's "Book of the Month," soon followed by a movie deal that I just know in my heart will not do this incredible novel justice. As I write this, a few weeks after I finished Lemongrass Hope, I still have not gotten over my extreme book hangover from Amy Impellizzeri's story.

Most books move me deeply. I am usually able to make an arbitrary connection to the most mundane character. However I felt this book was written about me, my experiences, the places I've been and, most of all, the emotions I've encountered in my adult life. Reflecting upon it, I think Amy Impellizzeri conveys what, probably, most women go through as we traverse our careers, love lives, friendships, marriages and motherhood. Additionally the imagery is visually stunning, the sand can be felt under your feet, the wine tasted, and your heart will be clenched as you journey through this book. This is truly an all around beautiful, and beautifully written, novel.

I cannot get enough of this book! Lemongrass Hope takes so many interesting and quirky turns while maintaining relatable themes throughout. Amy Impellizzeri is a genius at being able to take her readers on a whimsical adventure with just the right amount of "real life" added to the mix so that we will all be able to wonder, "What would I do?" This is one of those rare finds that I thought about days and days after I read it! Great book...I wish I could add more stars!

This book is amazing! It's engaging from the beginning. It draws you in and takes you down the path of life - past, present and future. You won't be disappointed. Amy Impellizzeri has a knack for writing about the human condition and I can't wait for this book to be released for everyone to read. Congrats Amy on a wonderful book!

For any woman who has ever wondered about the choices they made in the past or who has imagined the outcomes of taking a different path, this book is an exercise in self-discovery. Love and relationships lost and realized...laughter and heartache...a dash of mystery...all peppered with the delight of magical realism - time travel, anyone?...that is remarkably accessible in a modern day read. I found myself comparing it to Aimee Bender's novel, The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, in its ability to take me places I hadn't imagined.

Lemongrass Hope also has similar addictive qualities of the TV series, LOST...of one of my former obsessions. For any of you who were also Lost devotees...Do you remember when you had to rewind and watch again to make sure that you were making that amazing connection correctly? When you'd go back three episodes to check on a detail? When you got goosebumps realizing what was about to unfold? When paths crossed that weren't supposed to at different points in life? That was the kind of thrill I discovered reading last night...turning back to previous chapters to make sure that my excitement was accurate. It really is an incredible read. I couldn't give it more praise...
