Elisabeth Naughton writes some fabulous stories. I’ve read her Stolen Series, Against All Odds Series, Firebrand Series and now her Aegis Series. I’ve read the first, “Marked” in her Eternal Guardian Series and somewhere along the line lost track of the eternal gods!
It was a welcome change of read to get in touch with this series again. Twisted is number seven in her Eternal Guardian Series and is packed with enough twists and turns to keep us glued the pages of the book.
Nick is imprisoned by Zagreaus on the command of his father Hades and is tortured to break him down as Hades’s got a lot to lose if Nick gets control of his full powers. Nick is Misos, and has been protecting his clan forever from the evils. Knowing that Demetrius is his half brother and they have the same soul mate, makes it even more twisted and Nick eventually sacrifices himself to keep their soul mate alive.
Cynna strikes a deal with the devil’s son and is forced to torture Nick, despite feeling a pull towards him. Eventually she manages to free Nick and both escape from the walls of hell. They are not out of the woods yet, as they run for their lives and eventually reach the sanctuary of the Argonauts, his brother and soul mate.
Now starts the real journey as they battle their feelings for each other amidst the secrets that keep spilling. Cynna’s roots are connected to Isadora, Isadora is Nick’s soul mate, and Nick and Cynna are in love with each other. With all these dynamics playing among the guardians, Twisted is one frenzy ride of powerful emotions, sizzling passion and ultimate loyalty. It can be read as a standalone, but would be more satisfying to follow the Eternal Guardians from the first book "Marked"

Twisted is Book 7 in the Eternal Guardians Series and can be read as a stand-alone.
Oh my gods, this story blew me away!
Nick’s been imprisoned by Zagreus, the prince of darkness and has been suffering at Cynna’s hands. Her job is to torture him and break his will. But she is not as cold-hearted as she seems. When she disobeys Zagreus and helps Nick to escape, they have to rely on each other to survive. He has every reason to hate her and knows he can’t trust her, but he needs her to ground him. Her presence seems to keep him from succumbing to his dark side.
Cynna is not evil, but she made a mistake earlier in life and she’s been paying for it. She made a deal with the devil or – to be exact - the prince of darkness. Since that time, she has been a prisoner in her own right.
Despite the fact that they should be enemies, Nick and Cynna can't fight their mutual attraction. The tension between them is explosive and as their journey progresses they develop a deep emotional bond.
Elisabeth Naughton’s writing is excellent, she knows how to suck you right into the story and keep you captivated till you turn the last page. The storyline is incredibly imaginative and the characters she created are very complex and believable. The rich mythological background and the detailed worldbuilding are awesome!
TWISTED is a fast-paced read with lots of action, adventure and red-hot passion! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will have a lot of catching up to do, reading all the other installments of this amazing series.

I love the Eternal Guardian series and it feels like I have been waiting for Nick's book for way too long- but it was absolutely worth the wait and is a story that went directly to my "re-read again" shelf!
This is a series that really needs to be read in order as so many events build upon each other through the prior books up to this point. As Twisted opens, Nick is being held prisoner by Zagreus, son of Hades, and being tortured in every way imaginable to try to unleash/ harness Nick's powers. The instrument administering his torture is the beautiful Cynna- Mistress of Torture- who has her own agenda and is a prisoner in her own way. Nick's strength and determination have caught her attention, but she can't show it without severe repercussions for both of them. Although she can't overtly help him, she tries to ease his pain when possible until Zagreus finally pushes her too far and she has to make a decision.
When she finally goes to Nick in the dead of the night, the heat ratchets up beyond blistering between the two of them, leaving Nick more confused than ever. He wants to hate her for everything she is doing to him but yet he can't get her out of his mind- the fantasies are the only thing that keep him sane at times. But when those repercussions come crashing down when Zagreus realizes what she has done, Cynna decides it's time to escape and take Nick along with her.
I have been a fan of Nick since the very first book in the series Marked. He has had more adversity thrown his way than three people should handle, never mind one man alone. He bore the responsibility of running the Misos colony, he watched his brother marry their soul mate, and he has spent months imprisoned to allow her to live freely just to mention a few things.Read more ›
