I have always been a fan of dark erotica and am always looking for good books in this genre to read, but as fans of dark erotica know it can be rather difficult because of how many different elements can be encompassed in the subject. I have bought more than one book that just left me feeling sick to my stomach wishing I had never picked it up in the first place or some cheesy capture fantasy that you can't help but roll your eyes at through most of the story. I was very happy to find that "Twist Me" did not fall into either of these categories, but truly had all the elements I look for in a good dark book. The book centers around Nora and Julian or otherwise known as Captive and Captor. As soon as Julian sets eyes on Nora he decides he has to have her, and not giving her a chance to say no takes her. What follows is,a whirlwind story filled with lots of twists, turns, pleasure, pain and love. I loved how you were able to identify with Nora from the very beginning as to how she was feeling and her reactions to the circumstances she was in. The emotion was real and could be felt in every scene in the book. It was easiy to identify with the conflict in the story, and did not feel overdone or exaggerated in any way. The sex scenes were hot and thoroughly descriptive, but did not dominate the book so much as to take away from the story, and of course as any good dark erotica book will the story feels like it rips you to shreds in the middle but the ending makes it all worth it! I enjoy sequels and was happy to see that although this one has one, it did not end on a major cliffhanger leaving you frustrated until the next book but has a great ending leading into second book.

Twist Me was a very different kind of love story that I would rate with 5 OMG's. Nora is an 18 year old woman who finds herself abducted and taken to an island by a mysterious stranger. The man who has taken her is captivating. He is beyond handsome, wealthy, worldly, confident, dangerous, and controlling. Julian has reasons specific reasons why Nora has become his "possession" and his need for her presence and affections are eventually revealed. The book is a study in opposites that has your mind somewhat "twisted" as to who is the bad guy, good guy, what is ok and what is in that gray zone. The characters and setting are described well enough to engage our imaginations and not bore you with too many details. The story is written with the voice of the heroine. Through Nora's narration, emotions and reactions we are more intimately connected to the story and the roller coaster it sends you on. Nora has to mature quickly and learns to adapt to her surroundings after realizing there is no choice. Nora's feelings blossom towards Julian, who can be loving, kind, attentive, sex personified with a dark edge. Their relationship grows blossoms mentally and physically. The love scenes are quite erotic and not all vanilla, yet they are an integral part of their story. As the story progresses there are any exciting and hold your breath moments many due to the nature of Julian's secretive business. I loved the book it was an awesome read, stimulating on so many levels. throughout the story I am not sure if Julian is a good guy hero or a dark, dangerous and possessive man. Maybe he is both. Either was you will find yourself surprised by who you end up rooting for towards the end of the story.Read more ›

I received an ARC of Twist Me in return for an honest review. My reviews are 100% my own and are in no way swayed in my judgment and rating of them because I have received a copy to review. I review as though I have purchased the content and whether I would be satisfied or not.
For all you dark romance lovers out there WOOHOO you're going to LOVE THIS, we've got another goody to add to our favorites.
Jeez this is off the scale for kidnap/Stockholm syndrome romance. I dare any one of you to not fall for Julian - because oh my exploding knickers! He's so dark and brooding and so friggin assertive he's just delicious!
As for Nora, she totally relatable too, even when she's falling for his charm, although when he did a couple of things to her I wanted to dive right in and rescue her from his clutches. I couldn't find fault with her character at all, I really liked her.
This whole story panned out excellently but then if you are like me and have read the Close Liaisons trilogy you will know that with Anna's writing you're in for an excellent ride. This Lady certainly has the storytelling knack. Whatever she creates it's very visual as your reading. I was on that beach, I was running the Island and I was walking his house. It is also very easy to feel the tension and feel the emotions flowing from Nora.
I am really going to miss them till I get my mitts on their next book, I absolutely cannot wait.
Anna; congratulations you did it again and did it with style. It's not easy to write a dark erotic novel and get a connection going between reader and the often shocking bits of a dark story that isn't a negative view on the love story. I love it when we get rewarded with a very good dark read.Read more ›
