About the Author

Jodi Ellen Malpas was born and raised in the Midlands town of Northampton, UK, where she lives with her family. Working for the family construction business fulltime and with the prospect of taking it over once her father retired, she tried to ignore the lingering idea of writing a novel until it became impossible. She finally found the time and courage to release her creative streak and in October 2012 self-published This Man as an e-book. She took a chance on a story with some intense characters, notably Mr. Jesse Ward, the Lord of the Manor, and sparked incredible reactions from women all over the world. Two months later, Jodi made the decision to give up her day job to concentrate on her new and very unexpected career in writing.

Only a few months have gone by, but here they are, back where it all started......at the Manor, but this time for their wedding.

Jesse Ward, owner of the Manor, and former 'player' is more than eager to permanently tie interior designer, Ava O'Shea, to his side. In fact, he does so quite literally!! In the short time they have known each other, Jess and Ava have found in each other something unbelievably unique. So special in fact, that despite significant trust issues, clashing temperaments and often opposing viewpoints, the two cannot manage to be apart for any length of time without imploding.

Even the veil of security that marriage provides, however, does not protect Jesse or Ava from the world around them, both past and present, to attempt to break them apart. Jesse is still overbearing and protective to the point of obsession, which in turn causes Ava to keep things to herself.......things that would have been better shared. Ava continues to be in the dark about large portions of Jesse's past and it becomes clearer that that history may well have something to do with his overprotective tendencies. But as long as they stay close, within reach of each other, touching, it is as if nothing outside of the two of them has any significance.

Inevitably and completely out of their control, the past and the present is starting to catch up. The question now is, will Jesse and Ava be able to withstand the threat on their marriage..........and will they survive???

Absolutely Fantastic!

This was book 3 in the trilogy, and part of me is sad that its over, although I'm thrilled for the resolution.........I'm a BIG fan of clarity!!!

After reading the first two books and anxiously awaiting the third installment, I am upset to say that this book was horrible. First of all it didn't even have the same flow as the first two and Jesse seems to be very stuck on himself. Every time Ava pays him a compliment about his good looks he says "I know". He even goes as far as walking up to a mirror and saying he looks better everyday. Secondly, their behavior is terrible, he treats her like a child and she behaves like one. Thirdly, I've never in all my years heard of a woman so desperate for a man's touch,no matter what happens she needs to feel his touch. Jesse comes across as a manipulative liar in this book. He manipulates Ava into a relationship with him the same way he was manipulated into a relationship with Ruth/Lauren when he was a teenager. She finds out he has lied to her and she simply says she can't get angry with him and gives him a kiss. This book was filled with out of the blue confessions and by 80% it's an episode of Jerry Springer. Then you have the twins they must be geniuses because I know kids repeat what they hear but these two not only repeat what they've heard they actually use the words in the correct context. Their five year old daughter shouts her dad can't dictate her wardrobe, and asks him if he is going to trample her grandmother. Really? I can honestly say the only part of this book I did like was when he made amends with his parents and remarried Ava. Everything else really didn't quite make sense to me. And please don't get me started on the restaurant scene. It's really not worth the read wish I would've just asked someone what happened at the end instead of continuing to read this nonsense.

This book was sick. I can't even articulate how disturbing it is. However what concerns and scares me most is how many people loved it. How many people found it romantic. How many people loved the dynamic between a narcissist with alcohol abuse issues and with borderline personality disorder tendencies and a female with dependent personality disorder who picks bad friends and whose work ethic is dictated by others around her. How many people loved the fact that this man controlled even her uterus by stealing her pills and impregnating her. How his "trampling" is considered romantic.

I understand that books are a way to escape and experience things but this scares me. I am concerned about the women who "loved" this book and the daughters they will raise. The messages they will send.

I don't know anybody that would let a man treat her like a child and let him get away with it. How can you live with somebody with so many secrets and lies. This woman needs to respect herself. I've need authors writing about strong, intelligent and self respecting. No man is worth what she is put through, and good sex doesn't make it right of worth it. this woman has known this man less than 3 months and even though he is sickly obsessive, continually lies and keeps things from her, sleeps with, other women during the relationship, chooses to fix problems with force, does everything behind her back like hiding her pills to get her pregnant without her knowledge to taking her ability to make her own choices and control her, just to mention a few of his terrible faults, Is this what some women want and think is romantic, because if it they think of themselves very poorly. Do yourself a favor and don't read this trilogy, it is depressing how women are portrait.
