This book had me hooked right from the first sentence. Raven a beautiful young girl who is spoiled and pampered by her Dad a Drug Boss that is well respected in the community. Raven is given anything she wants and when she crosses path with the handsome, manipulative, abusive, and conniving Mizan things soon go crazy. Mizan a "Jackboy" always looking for a come up stumbles on a gold mine, Kingpin Benjamin Atkin's daughter. He takes over Rae's mind and body in order to get access to her father's fortune. Her father can see what type of guy Mizan is off the bat and wants Rae to leave him alone, but Rae is caught up in her feelings. Ethic a smart business partner who is new in town sees what is going on with Rae and wants to help her father get her back in control. This book was great from the beginning to the end I finished reading this book in two days, it was that good.

Ashley Antoinette introduces us to a hard headed and spoiled young lady that has the world in the palm of her hands as her father rules the streets of Flint, MI. Drug Kingpin Benjamin Atkins rules Flint and has managed to keep his personal life separate from his gruesome lifestyle, both past and present. Benjamin Atkins is not new to this, he's mos def true to this, and he tries to shield his family from the harshness of the streets. His pride and joy, and oldest daughter, Raven is hot in the pants, and a rejection from a quiet, yet wise young man named Ethic bruises her ego and in her ignorance, she races straight into the devil's arms wholeheartedly. Raven finds herself as the naïve detonator to the flames that encompass and ruin her life and those closest to her. Mizan is a jack boy searching for that one `great lick' that will place him in a position of power and notoriety and has discovered his meal ticket in one of Benjamin Atkin's most prized possessions.

Moth To A Flame is an explosive and enticing read evolving around one young girl's life. Ashley's depiction of Raven Atkin's life is hypnotic as well as distressing with the realism that though this is a work of fiction, you feel the truth as each chapter unfolds before your very eyes. You'll find yourself too scared to move forward, but much more afraid of not discovering just what Ashley has concocted to further enthrall you in this incredible read. Moth To A Flame is a astonishing novel that addresses youth, bad choices, consequences, manipulation, physical and drug abuse, robbery, murder, suicide, low self esteem, wisdom, and lastly....love. Ms. Antionette...Ashley Antionette...one half of the `Dynamic Duo'...an intricate player in a world that needs this story...in a manner that only she can portray it...

@ Reading this book I have come to the realization of why I try to stay away from books by Ashley and Jaquavious ..She is undoubtly a great writer and is getting better in her craft ...While i like this book I was getting the vibe of The coldest Winter but with a dumb as rocks Winter....I was so over Raven and when this story took a turn for the better I was happy ..but knowing Ashley formulatic hood novels i knew some one was going to die.. and yea I am aware hood novels are not fairy tales but DAMN coundnt Raven catch a break Yea we know she set the wheels in motion but in my eyes if you know some one is a snake and looking for a come up ***spoiler** you would of smoked Mizan within the first couple of chapters. I know this is a story but much like the Prada Plan and the Tropy wife I am always like half way vested in the chracters because i know some one is going to get killed ...I mean do you have to kill of eveeryone ?? That is my only harp but the story was again real familiar to me ....in a sense but it was like @ a certain point I was like girl just GO!!! all in all i'm mad @ the ending and this is probably my last time reading one of her books because i cant deal with the death and stuff i like hood novels but not so much when the good people die ....

First let me just say that I love all of Ashley's books. They are always a good read from the begining to end. The only thing that got me with this book was the ending. I know we don't always get the happy endings we are looking for, but Raven has suffered so and been through so much pain that I think the ending should have giving her an opportunity to start new with her life and not only that she did have a sister who depended on her. That little girl lost her whole family man did that cut me deep!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seventeen-year-old Raven Atkins is as spoiled as they come. The daughter of a rich drug king in Flint, Michigan, she never wants for anything. She drives a luxury car, wears the trendiest clothes, but deep down Raven craves attention. She finds that attention from Mizan, a ruthless street thug. Her father's disapproval of Mizan pushes her closer to him and farther away from her father. Unbeknownst to Raven, Mizan devises a plan that will alter her life forever.

Five years later, Raven's fairytale world begins to unfold; being Mizan's "wifey" is not what it's cracked up to be. The emotional and physical abuse takes a toll on Raven. She wants to get away from Mizan but like a moth to a flame, she's drawn to him. Will she walk away or remain a victim?

Although the outcome was predictable to me, MOTH TO A FLAME is a page-turner. Ashley Antoinette's expressive and detailed writing makes it easy to imagine the characters, their emotions, and the events taking place in the book. Despite the fact MOTH TO A FLAME is read for entertaining purposes, there are a few messages in the story.
