I normally avoid anything with "billionaire" in the title, but because it was written by J.S. Scott I decided to give it a try. I don't usually review my favorite authors' books because I'm inclined to like all of their stories which kind of taints the review; however, this story is worthy of my review. I have all of J.S. Scott's books; 'The Heart Of The Billionaire' is my favorite.
Dr. Maddie Reynolds was raised in foster care and never truly felt as if anyone loved her. In college, she met a wonderful man and fell deeply in love with him. They were both broke students trying to carve out a promising future from the pain of their past. One night she was supposed to meet him for coffee, but instead she found him making out with another woman. She has never recovered from the pain of losing her first love.
Sam Hudson's runs into Maddie, the only woman he has ever loved. He's happy to see that she has become the great doctor he always knew she could be, but he knows that she hates him and would never forgive him for what he did to her in the past. When an incident occurs at her clinic, which threatened the life of his sister-in-law, he had security watching over Maddie's clinic to ensure her safety.
Maddie works full-time at the hospital and then works another full shift at the clinic. Not even all the hours she's working will let her forget Sam. She wouldn't admit it to anyone, but she has followed his career over the years and was glad that he became the successful man that he always wanted to be. She still angry about the way they broke up in college and she will never forgive him for breaking her heart. This was a great romantic read! I had been dying to know what had happened between Sam and Maddie. I felt very satisfied with the story and Sam's explanations. I am also glad that this was written as one book, rather than a few shorter stories. I am looking forward to reading Max's story!

After reading Simon's story I just had to read Sam's. And I wasn't let down at all. Just like Simon, Sam has his own personal scars both physical and mental and it is up to "his woman" to help him heal. This was a romantic and sexy heart felt story that was well worth the money and time.

"Heart of the Billionaire" should be a four star review for me, but the editing (mainly grammatical errors) drove me crazy. I had to suppress the teacher in me and put the red pen down. I LOVED J.S. Scott's "The Billionaire's Obsession" series. "The Heart of the Billionaire" was a great spin off. Sam and Maddie's story was full of tension, heat, and surprises. I like how the author carefully incorporated the main character of next book into Sam and Maddie's story. I also liked how Simon and Kara were brought back into the story from time to time.
