About the Author

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love, married him, and now they are hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning...

“As long as I have breath in me, you’re going to be my princess.”

Whoa. Why was I not told I’d need one of those walk-in freezers while reading this book? Apart from being one of my most scorching reads of the year, the ‘realness’ of the love story took me totally off guard, and held me captive until the very last word. This is a book I expected to like, and found myself obsessively devouring. The level of emotion, the raw chemistry between the characters, the insight into both their personalities—this book was the total package for me and one I’d recommend unreservedly.

“I get up every morning and put on my perfect face and promise myself to have the perfect day and to someday have the perfect family. But I’m failing.”

We met Melanie Meyers in previous instalments of the series as Brooke’s loyal best friend, but it is not until now that we meet the real Melanie and the hopeless dreamer behind the mouthy vixen. Melanie has always been the perfect daughter, the bright hope in her parents’ life, perennially bubbly and optimistic, her appearance and attitude reflecting that positivity and cheerfulness. Deep down, however, Melanie feels like a fraud, unworthy of the life she was given because she keeps failing at the one thing her parents wish the most for her—finding a good man and falling head over heels in love with him. She keeps ‘kissing frogs’ in the hope of finding the man of her dreams, but all she is ever left with is a string of one-night stands and a heart that keeps breaking from the constant sting of disappointment. And yet, Melanie never stops hoping that her perfect man would suddenly walk into her life and love her the way she craves to be loved, the way she sees her friend Brooke being loved by her husband—completely and desperately.

*If you haven't read Real (or any of the Real series) you can jump right into Rogue and read it as a stand-alone book and still enjoy this book*

Ah, Katy Evans!! I adore you. It is no secret that I fell in love with your writing when I first read Real last year, but you changed on me with Rogue. You wrote a story that was not only hot (whew, get some ice) but a story that made me fall into your words and want to live there! Rogue is this amazing, beautiful story that pulls at your emotions and makes time disappear, I loved every page and was sad when I got to the end. Melanie and Greyson's story in Rogue is special. It is different and it is fabulous! I knew I was going to get a good story from Katy Evans but she WOWED me with Rogue (to the point I email fan-girled her to tell her this) and I have a whole new level of awe and amazement for the talent that is Katy Evans.

Rogue, damn. This was one of the best books I have read this year. I checked, I have given six 5-star reviews so far in 2014 (that is out of almost 150 books read by me in 2014) and I would definitely say Rogue is right at the top! I can't pinpoint what exactly makes this book so different from all the other books I have been reading lately, but it has to do with a combination of the writing style, the story itself, the characters and the dialogue. I was hooked at page one and I fell in love with Greyson immediately. The pacing of this book was great, it didn't speed you through things fast, their was a slow burn, great tension and then an exciting pace when one was needed.

Melanie and Greyson's story was just a treat to read.

Rogue (Real #4) by Katy Evans
5 stars!!

“I’m living for two people. I’m trying to stuff into one lifetime what could fill two lives. So I get up every morning and put on my perfect face and promise myself to have the perfect day and to someday have the perfect family. But I’m failing.”

It was with great trepidation that I went into this book. It is no secret that I am a huge Katy Evans fan; I mean how could I not be after she gave me Remy! Remy is a resident on my BBF list and has been since the beginning, he was a character that I fell in love with and hold dear to my heart and one that I will never ever forget. So you can imagine my dilemma…I love Remy…surely Katy cannot do it again?

Enter Greyson King…another entry on the BBF list…right behind Remy. Yep she did it…these two are by no means similar, but Katy has managed to infiltrate my heart with another one of her characters, he really is that goody guy/bad boy, but the good far outweighs the bad and it is his fight to remain good that makes him even more lovable. I adored Greyson and if you haven’t done so already, you need to meet him!! Greyson, Greyson, Greyson, what can I say about him…he is dark, he is deadly, he is demanding, he is dominant but he is dreamy. He is a ten!!

“He’s a ten. I’ve never, ever been with a ten. And the way that he looks at me . . . I’ve seen that look before. The look that Remington Tate gives Brooke. That look. He’s giving it to me and I’m dying inside. Can I die from one look? And if one look can kill me, then what would one touch do?”

Melanie is one of Brooke’s best friends, in this book we get to understand her a whole lot more.
