A New York Times bestselling author who has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. Q. What inspires your writing?
A. So many things. Art, a photograph, a portrait, poetry, movies, songs, books, historical events, notable people, a friend, a colleague...and the list is never-ending.
Q. Why do you like to write historicals?
A. I guess mostly because of the nostalgia of the past. It is an escape for me to think in a world where communication existed only in real face-to-face time or in a letter. Social graces were not only an art, but a survival skill. Interaction with another person was downright intimate in a way it can never be today. I also find great joy in writing my stories. It is as entertaining to write them as it is to be lost in a book you can't set down.
Q. What is your favorite quote?
A. "I almost wish we were butterflies, and liv'd but three summer days. Three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain." JOHN KEATS...1819 (sigh) Need I elaborate?
Q. How do you plot out your stories?
A. I picture the scenes like a movie in my mind. I go on long walks with my ipod and just process through storylines in my head. As soon as I get home I run up to my computer and jot down my ideas so I don't forget. I've worked through many a troublesome plotline while on a walk. Solitude works for me.
Q. Who are some of your favorite authors?
A. JR Ward, Megan Hart, Elizabeth Hoyt, Ken Follett, John Grisham, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, John Keats, Robert Herrick...What I wouldn't give to have all of those writers together in a room.
Q. What has becoming a writer taught you?
A. A healthy respect. That's: R - E - S - P - E - C - T! I am humbled by anyone who wrote before the word processor and Google were invented. There's no denying that writing is hard work, but to imagine how Jane Austen wrote Pride and Prejudice with a feather quill pen makes my brain hurt.
Q. Any pearls of wisdom for aspiring writers?
A. Write what you love--your voice will come through. Write every day--your creative mind needs exercise. Never give up your dream of becoming a writer. Everyone loves a good story and if you can write one, people will always want to read it.

Author Raine Miller never holds back when it comes to hot steamy sex, she
lures the reader with strong sexy characters and then delivers scenes
impassioned with desire. There are a handful of authors who I read everything
they write Raine Miller is one of them.
The story is set during the same period as the Blackstone Affairs novels.
Ivan Everley/Lord Rothvale is her newest male lead cousin to Ethan Blackstone.
Where Ethan was smooth and suave Ivan is arrogant and smug.
I have to confess my love for Ethan Blackstone far exceeds the feelings
I have for Ivan. But he is a hot commodity I have to give him that.
Before this series is over Ivan will trail right behind Ethan as
my fav book boyfriends!
I guess once you've had Ethan Blackstone no one else measures up.
The world at his feet he takes what he wants. He doesn't do relationships
instead effs without feelings and thought. It took me a few chapters before
I warmed up to Ivan he came across as mean and cold but that
didn't last long. Ivan is a hot dominant that won't
take no from his latest quest, Miss Hargreave.
Gabrielle Hargreave was Brynne's roommate and they worked together at
the gallery.
Mistaken identity brings Gabrielle and Ivan together and when the
steam evaporates she disappears.
Ivan isn't able to get Gabrielle out of his head and one way or another
he will find her and take want he wants, the way he wants it.
I loved when he discovers who she is, a surprise neither was
prepared for. Yikes, I wanted to slap him and poor Gabby
didn't deserve his venom.
Superb cast of characters, I always love when characters from

Raine Miller. The woman knows how to write. Her books just keep getting better and better with each new release. I literally just finished Priceless and I am in complete awe of her.
To sit back and be able to experience firsthand the sudden courtship of Gabrielle and Ivan simply took my breath away. To see it all unfold as they explore, sometimes hesitantly, their newfound feelings for each other was indeed priceless. I felt giddy, thrilled even, to see these two souls, hurt by previous lovers, embrace the chemistry and the intellect they share. Their witty banter made me smile and their exploration of both their bodies and their minds made me sigh. And often.
This is a well written and beautiful story of a fated romance that neither Gabrielle nor Ivan ever counted on. Watching them falter a bit, but stay on the same path to hopeful happiness is a phenomenal read. The Blackstone crew is all there and we get a brief glimpse of Brynne, Ethan, Neil, Elaina and Hannah. Not to mention Benny and two new characters that I know I will adore: Mr. Finnegan and Lowell Brinkley.
This book and it's subsequent sequels promise to be the next great series that everyone will want to add to their collection of great reads. I for one loved every word and cannot wait for more.
A huge 5 +++ stars from me.

I fell in love with Ivan and Gabrielle in The Blackstone Affair and I am more in love with them now. Raine gives you glimpses into each and what makes them tick, and there is still more to discover. Found the flow of the book and the interaction between the two to be priceless! I can't wait to see what develops in the 2nd book!!!

We have met Ivan being cocky and poised in the Blackstone Affair before. We also got some hints that there might be something going on between Ivan and Gaby. Now we get the confirmation in this new sexy, flirty, mysterious series.
It turns out there's more to Ivan than the cocky bastard, one who's lonely and hurt. Until he meets Gaby under very interesting circumstances. And from here on out...we see another side of Ivan. He fell for a mysterious woman who cast her spell over him. A woman that changes him, that gives him kinda hope that with her things will be different. He's willing to catch her every time she tries to run.
Gaby...funny, gorgeous, fashion-loving Gaby that has been the best friend for Brynne finds herself in a situation that she can't talk about. She's ashamed of it. It reminds her too much of her past. And yet, she can't resist the charming dominant persona that is Ivan. As much as she tries to run, Ivan will run for her. A fact she's very much afraid of.
The chemistry between them is like a firework and yet only starting as the end of book one promises. We already get hints that their past will haunt them. Whatever it is will be heartbreaking and probably bring us to tears. It will definitely influence their growing relationship and fights and arguments will test them for sure.
Raine Miller created another fabulous, awesome, beautiful, stunning spin-off to the Blackstone series. We go back in time and meet Brynne and Ethan again as well as Neil and Elaina and everyone else. It's the cherry on top!
So looking forward to October!
