Teresa Hamilton has only ever surmounted to one thing in her life: dancing. A recent knee injury risks not only her dance scholarship, but also the only passion she's ever known, the only future she's ever planned. But Tess, whom we first were introduced to as Cam Hamilton's resilient little sister in J. Lynn's Wait for You, is a big girl, which means she's going to do what she's always done: pick up the pieces of her life and carry on. This doesn't only mean, college; it also means taking the leap of faith by being honest with her feelings for Jase, who swears the two of them would never work.

The problem isn't that Jase is her brother's best friend—after all, it's Tess Jase is afraid of, not Cam; it's that Jase, despite his clear attraction to her, is unwilling to drag her down into anything serious. He has a dark past that never surfaces in his cool, calm nature, but Tess can just tell he has a story to tell, but reluctantly won't. And she'll be damned if he keeps leading her on, but avoiding confrontation.

When an impending problem, outside of Tess's control and radar, grows bigger and eventually implodes in a devastating turn of events, Tess learns that the things holding her back—pride, schoolwork, fear of rejection, fear of never dancing again—are the last things in the world that she should be worrying about, and that Jase, regardless of his quiet torment, is a good man who just needs to sort himself out.

The physicality of Tess and Jase's relationship is scorching hot, and their explosive encounters are interspersed with frustrating periods where Jase completely cuts off contact, or attempts to collect himself.

Teresa Hamilton definitely holds the top spot for being one of the most determined and persistent female leads that J. Lynn has written. Her love life has been one big mess since she was 16, but she's grown from it and for the most part has moved on. After being abused by her high school boyfriend, which her brother Cam put in the hospital, she meets her brothers best friend, Jase Winstead. They share one super hot kiss her senior year and then he disappears until she starts her freshman year at the same college.

Jase Winstead definitely holds the top spot for being one of the most infuriating and annoyingly hot male leads that J Lynn has written. He has suffered greatly from a tragedy at 16, which he has kept secret from the world with the exception of his parents and Cam. When he meets Teresa Hamilton, who he calls Tess, he finds her to be one of the most beautiful, caring, underage and completely off limits person he has met. Jase came home with Cam for a weekend, Tess being 18 and a senior in high school still lived at home, the night the two boys came home was the night Teresa and him shared that super hot kiss, and then he ran. He woke up Cam early the next morning and they left. He didn't say goodbye to her, text her, or call her after that. Nothing. So when she started college the following year he was forced to confront her.

This book will and I mean WILL give you emotional whiplash. You cant help but fall in love with Teresa, she strong, smart, and seems to be able to read Jase like the back of her hand. Jase is a completely different story, I wanted to strangle him through out the entire book. Teresa is a nice girl, she doesn't deserve to be yanked around because he wont let himself move on and overcome his past.

I loved the first book of the series. It tackled some pretty real issues that are quick to be swept under the carpet in relationships. I was excited to read about the Jase and Teresa. Here's my warning/spoiler alert.... I get that, especially at the beginning of a relationship, there are communication issues. He wants her then he doesn't, etc. However, she walked in on him getting a bj, leaves, he chases her, and then she gives him a bj??!! wtf??!! The book really went downhill from there. I finished the book but would not read anymore or recommend to anyone.

Let me start with saying that I liked both of the characters. And while this was a little too melodramatic, I still thought it was good. What really, really annoyed me was the big break up. Teresa just went through an incredibly traumatic experience and he just leaves? After the entire book was spent showing what a compassionate and kind person Jase was? Even if he needed to work out his issues I feel like he wouldn't have just abandoned her after something like that. I felt it was an incredibly contrived plot twist. Badly done, J. Lynn.

This was a highly anticipated book for me and I couldn't wait to get off work last night to read it. I stayed up way too late to finish it and when it was over, I was left feeling a tad let-down.

Jase's secret is obvious from page one (literally!) but luckily we don't have to wait too, too long for him to make the big reveal to Teresa. These two have chemistry from the get-go, but Jase spends 98% of the book fighting his own attraction. So when these two FINALLY get together, it's sexy, sexy, sexy...of course, Jase has to go and blow it with the obligatory break-up. (Side bar - I felt this was a bit contrived and almost thrown in as an afterthought. And even while my heart was breaking for Teresa, I wanted to throttle Jase for doing this to her!)

I hope J. Lynn does NOT write this same story from Jase's POV - if she wants to tell both sides, she should start writing dual POV novels. I will keep this in my "to read again" pile and look for the print version to read the extra scene between Cam & Avery (possibly their aborted weekend in the Poconos?).
