Honor Bound and Two Alone are two oldies but goodies that were written back in the mid eighties when Sandra Brown was still doing your basic romance novels. I have copies of these books individually, but I have read them so many times they are falling apart so I bought this book to have them both in new condition. These are two of my all time favorites that I take out when I want a quick read that I know I'll enjoy, kind of like putting on your favorite pair of old shoes.
Honor Bound is a story about a Native American named Lucas Greywolf who escapes from prison and ends up taking a hostage as he races across the desert, desperate to get to the reservation in time to see his grandfather before he dies. His hostage, Aislinn Andrews is a beautiful blond Anglo and is everything Lucas has learned to despise. As they are forced to spend time together, Aislinn begins to think there is more to Lucas than his hard exterior and defiant attitude. Later when Lucas is finally released from prison, he and Aislinn are both in for a surprise and are forced to rethink everything they thought they knew about each other and what they want for their lives. It's a classic love story about two people who come from different worlds, but slowly learn to break down the barriers and prejudices that have kept them from seeing one other as they truly are, allowing them to let the possibility of love grow.
Two Alone is a fast paced story about two strangers involved a small airplane crash in the Canadian wilderness who are stuck together as they fight to survive until they can be rescued and the two couldn't be any more different which keeps things pretty lively.Read more ›

These are two of Sandra Brown's early & best romance novels. I read both years ago separately & am happy to see them together in one volume. They are very hard to find separately. Both novels are prime examples of why Brown has remained a top romance & non fiction writer for decades. I recommend ALL her books.

Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors. She writes books that keep you into the story and on your toes for the surprises in the characters' lives. You might think you know how the story is going to end, but it quite often comes out different than you might imagine. Both of these stories get your attention from the beginning and all the way to the end. Great stories by a great author!!

I recently won a copy of Honor Bound & Two Alone, a bind-up of two Sandra Brown novels, on Goodreads. While romance novels are not my usual cup of tea, I decided to read this book and give it a try. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of either of these stories.
Honor Bound is the first book in the bind up, and revolves around a young woman named Aislinn who is kidnapped by an escaped convict who happens to be an American Indian. Though she is frightened, she is somewhat enamored with Lucas, the convict. Of course, a love story ensues from there.
The other story is Two Alone, which revolves around Rusty and Cooper, the two lone survivors of an airplane crash. They rely on each other to survive in the woods until they can be rescued, and (you guessed it) a romance begins between the two.
These books were both written in the late 1980s, and are definitely products of their time. I think the stories were very cliché, and featured women in helpless roles, with men powering over them at all times. Even without the romance scenes, I really disliked how the women in these novels are portrayed. It also bothered me how these stories both touched on very serious topics, but just glided over them to get to the love scenes. While a happy ending can be nice, they were just extremely cheesy in these books and didn't necessarily wrap up the stories properly.
Suffice it to say that I don't recommend this book unless you really enjoy romance novels. I ended up giving this bind-up a 2 out of 5 stars on Goodreads, because I understand that these books are definitely a product of the late 1980s, and thus may have been received differently during their original release.
