Dare to Surrender is the story of my heart. I wrote the first 100 pages during a very down time in my life, when I was losing my father, with whom I was very close. I needed an outlet - a book that I didn't owe to anyone. One that reflected the types of stories I love to read. Then of course, the characters of Isabelle and Gabe grabbed me and wouldn't let go. I hope you love Isabelle and Gabe as much as I do.

I’m biased. Carly Phillips could probably just write the alphabet or the phone book and I would read it. Period.
Dare to Surrender is the third in her Dare series. Gabriel Dare is the cousin to Alex and Ian Dare and their siblings whom we’ve met in the previous two installments. Gabe’s got power, influence and money and girls willing to be with him but one eludes him. He sees her attached to her husband at social functions as they run in the same circles and she intrigues him. But all is not what it seems.
Isabelle Masters thought she was marrying someone who loved her. She learned quickly that he was a lying, cheating scumbag and after she discovers his cheating ways, she doesn’t let him talk her back into staying to be his wife and house maid. She gets in her car and drives off.
Getting arrested was not her plan, but as she sits in the police station, handcuffed to the chair, Gabriel comes to her rescue. Her arresting officer is his brother.
Gabe convinces her to let him take her to his place as she has no place else to go. Their coupling is quick and intense and too intense for Isabelle at first. She needs to know she can stand on her own again so she leaves to do just that.
She is an interior designer… Queue three months later and Gabe’s sister has asked for Isabelle to help design the newest nightclub her brother owns. It’s on an Island near the Bermuda Triangle.
Isabelle has missed Gabriel and doesn’t realize just how much until the moment she hears his voice upon arriving on the Island.

Oh how I am enjoying this slightly kinkier side of Carly Phillips!!
In this third novel of the Dare To Love series, Carly also needed to fold the book into a joint series "Welcome To Eden"; a collaboration of 27 authors with at the centre an exclusive island resort where fantasies come alive. And I say she was able to do so quite seamlessly!
Where the previous two books have circled around the same characters, this one moves to a different branch of the Dare clan, introducing us more intimately to the siblings, Gabe, Decklan and Lucy, with Gabe taking the lead in this story. It also does not centre around the ownership and management of a sports team, but a chain of hotels and clubs, which is the heritage of this particular group of "Dares".
Isabelle and Gabe have had a superficial acquaintance only, mostly through a business relationship Gabe had with Isabelle's ex, but there has always been a special connection that was more a feeling, a sensation or instinctual awareness, then it was a conscious realization.
Gabe in particular has bided his time, hoping for Isabelle to get shot of the man she was with. Not a choirboy in the meantime, he made sure never to mix emotions with physical release. Somehow with Isabelle he craved a different connection. Her instinctive responses to his subtle stimuli have the urge to control nearly overwhelming him. He realizes she will need to trust herself, before she can fully trust him.Read more ›

Gabe knew the moment he saw Isabelle Masters that she was the one that could fill his empty life. But she belonged to another man and that meant hands off until she is free. He saw her often at social events that they both attended and the more he saw the more he liked. Gabe had given up on women after being burned in his marriage. He had been too young and when his wife died he kept a safe emotional distance so that he would not become involved again that is until he saw Isabelle.
Isabelle has spent the last few years in an abusive relationship that she did not realized how bad it was until the very end. She had found pictures in a file on their shared laptop of her significant other and their next door neighbor in some really graphic sexual positions. Walking out was extremely hard but there was no way that Isabelle could live with him under these circumstances. She left with the clothes on her back and her car. Little did she know that Lance would have her arrested for auto thief and put in jail? Isabelle realizes that this is just a ploy on his part to get her back under his control.
Gabe arrives at the police station where his brother is a cop and finds Isabelle cuffed and held waiting for release. As he talks with her he realizes that she does not want any part of her ex-Lance. She has left him and has nowhere to go and a minimum amount of money her ex had stripped her of everything and intended to reclaim her. Gabe knows that this is his chance and grabs hold with both hands. Isabelle will be his and he will take care of her. But Isabelle has different ideas and refuses to go from one controlling man to another.Read more ›
