Tim Waggoner has published more than twenty novels and two short story collections, and his articles on writing have appeared in Writer’s Digest and Writers’ Journal, among other publications. He teaches creative writing at Sinclair Community College and in Seton Hill University’s Master of Fine Arts in Writing Popular Fiction program.
I write fantasy and horror for both adults and young readers. I also teach creative writing at Sinclair Community College and in Seton Hill University's MFA in Writing Popular Fiction program.
I was a little fearful about reading this, because I was really not impressed by The Chopping Block. But Waggoner really did an awesome job on this. The wesen villain was kind of heartbreaking, sympathetic in an unexpected way, and I enjoyed how much the author explored the implications of a creature without its own identity. Also I really liked that he didn't lean completely on the "evil twin" storyline, instead adding a wesen plague as a subplot throughout that almost wound up overshadowing the doppleganger. It was a really neat twist and a great way to keep the tropes from being too predictable. The dialogue was much more natural than the other one I read, and was genuinely funny in places, reminding me much more of the Grimm I've come to know and love.
This is one that I would love to see as a TV episode, and I hope Waggoner comes back to write for Grimm again.

Best written book of the three Grimm books (the ones that are tied to the TV series). Really enjoyed it. As usual it helps to be familiar with the series but it's not required. A quick read - very entertaining and suspenseful. The author captures the characters and their personalities well. It's got me even more fired up for season 4 in three weeks!

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. I WISH IT COULD BE MADE INTO AN EPISODE. THE STORY WAS AMAZING AND THERE WAS GREAT HUMOR. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK IN THE SERIES.
